I have a 2005 Omni 2 stroke and it has all the stock parts on it. I was wondering what types of upgrades, if any, should I do to get it running with a little more uphill power. I live in Missouri where hills are becoming a bit of a pain.

Thank you! When I install a bbk, will I need to make any modifications to compensate or will it be ready to ride? Also, does it changes the cc's?

A BBK is a larger piston and cylinder and yes you will need to upjet

Will I also need a bigger carb or just an upjet for it? Do you know what size jet I would probably need if I still have the stock jet?

We do a ton of these upgrades. Depending on your budget the sky is the limit. Most people do just a standard 70cc kit. We have stage 1, 2, and 3 kits for these scooters. You will need to jet it up. But unfortunately there isnt normally a certain jet to install. Its a trial and error. I can tell you what jet would be very close. also if you do do the 70cc kit you will want to add a cap full of oil into the gas tank when filling up. If you upgrade it to a 70cc you are still using the 50cc pump. Ill attach a few video and links to our web site that may help. I think you will be happy with just a 70cc kit and stock everything else if not just keep adding performance parts. If you have any questions or need parts just ask. This is what we do daily. What big bore to choose?: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4Zj-uzi9R80" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Upgrades we offer: rollingwrenchdenver.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=62

Yeah, in other words, your stock carb will be fine, and whatever size your main jet is now, you will need to get one about +10 bigger. But like R wR above said, it's trial and error (hopefully more trial than error)

The 50cc pump will work fine..they are used on engines as large 125cc Enduro Motorcycles. They are easily adjustable....here is a link to a tech tip I wrote for another site... It seems that as a Scooter repair tech you would already know this. Have a look at the link...it will help you in the future. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=3151Glenn

Its good practice for brand new 2 stroke engines or after a rebuild to add a capful of your 2 t oil of choice oil to the fuel even when you have oil injection to make sure you get the proper lubrication you need for the first time startup. After running the first tankful then go back to the normal procedure of using only the oil tank Its what i have always done and it has served me well for quite a long time Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

I myself add extra oil on a new break in. It is just that many do not know you can adjust the pump... When I said "should have known this"...I should have put a so it would not be taken wrong... Now you can try lighter rollers , most use 4 or 5 grams and maybe a 1k contra spring . A small carb may work , many have a 17.55 but a 2T Power Kit comes with a 21mm carb . My 2T came with a 19mm TK carb with a 68 main jet . I upgraded to a 75 MJ and it was much better . Put a NGK iridium spark plug in it so it will fire better and not as likely to foul out from oil build up on it . I use NGK BR8HIX where some use the 7 which is hotter plug . I would get a couple of standard NGKs and some jets to try with the BBK and once the jetting is right then use the iridium . Jetting is more sensitive on a 2T if you make mods like air filter or exhaust . I ran a small Uni that was a vent cover and not really an air filter with a 90 MJ and it was perfect . I tried the larger and proper Uni it bogged a lil and the plug melted and I had a soft seize when it was 100 degrees this summer with the 7 plug . The cheaper BBKs are dual ring and iron block . The dual rings last longer and hold in compression better . The iron block is more forgiving if you have a soft seize . The single ring pistons can have more higher RPMs since less friction but the ring will wear out faster than a dual ring . The factory exhaust has a catalytic convertor and many are limited to 8,000 RPMs and some no expansion chamber like on the tuned pipes . BEFORE you order a BBK you need to know if yours has 10mm or 12mm wristpins . You can measure the hole with a caliper to be sure or the variator like mentioned in this link which you should read www.scrappydogscooters.com/Tech_Talk_with_Mo_.html and Mo is great to email questions and replies the next day or sooner . Mine came with 6 gram rollers but 4 grams were too light so I mixed them up to equal 5 grams and I liked it . I replaced the 5 pin CDI with a racing one but it did not help the top end at all but did on takeoff since it has an advanced timing curve . When I pulled off the cylinder the exhaust port was a D shape instead of an O which restricted the exhaust flow out and would top it 8,000 RPMs and fizzle above that . I now have a 72cc BBK , Uni and MMG pipe . I ordered jets too big and am ordering a 95 , 100 and 105 to fine tune the carb . My 2T uses these jets www.power-barn.com/servlet/the-1344/Mikuni-VM11-fdsh-22-Large-Round/Detail yours may as well but remove and measure with a caliper before ordering as jets are not all the same . If you do not have a caliper www.harborfreight.com has them as low as 2 dollars for plain or 10 with a LCD display . Once you get it setup and tuned it will be great fun out running 4T scooters and making them 2T envy . Many stock oil pumps are not that good so a Mikuni oil pump is a good idea but may need a different throttle cable to use it . The safest option is to premix . Use synthetic 2T oil not the weedeater junk . I have used Maxxmina brand and it was ok but I really like Motul 710 with ester . Note read the label as some 2T oil can be used with injector or premix where some is premix only

If you install a BBK do not forget the reeds. The stock ones are steel, switch them out with a carbon fiber or fiber glass reeds. With the larger jet.
