Whenever I start my scooter with the electric start I have to give it gas first. Is this bad?
Also Sometimes when im idling or stopped the engine just shuts off.
What could be wrong with it?
This is a kymco super 8 50cc 2 stroke
I just had my carbeurator cleaned, new battery, new airfilter and new spark plug. New synthetic oil as well.

There should be a screw on the side of the carb that goes in at an angle to adjust the idle mixture. You play with it when the engine is hot. You turn it to the right or the left til the engine starts to die and then back the other way super slow until the idle smooths out and gets faster. Then you readjust the idle speed screw if needed. That may help the starting. It may take some fiddling. The engine should be warm/hot.
New spark plugs are a good thing to install every few months or so especially in a 2 stroke.

My idle speed is really low does that matter? So don't mess with tthe speed screw yet?
What does it mean for the idle to smooth out when i mess with the idle mixture screw.

You'll know it when you hear it. Play with both screws for a while and you'll figure it out. If the idle is really low then turn it up faster biut not so fast the scooter pulls. that will fry the clutch at red lights.

Could possibly be poor compression.
