I just got home from a night in the hospital. No, I was not the one deeding medical attention. One of my best friends was hit by a pickup the other night.
He was crossing an intersection that should have had a stop sign, Needless to say there was none. As he got halfway through the intersection a pickup came from his right and clipped the rear of his Kymco Yup 50. He went down headfirst into the pavement. Brendan is one of the most adamant folk I have ever met about wearing helmets. It is not the first time he has been hit on a scooter, the first time he did have a helmet and it saved his life. This time though...He didnt wear the dang thing. He spent three days in the hospital, 17 staples in his domepiece, a severe concussion, and some road rash. Suprisingly ok, thank god, You don't want to see the scoot.
Once I got to see him I asked if he was an organ donor..."No, why?"...Cuz if i ever catch you riding without a helmet again I'm gonna put you out of your misery to save someone else the cost of peeling your @$$ off the ground and putting you into diffferent buckets.
This makes three friends who ride scoots, not counting myself, that have been hit by cars just this year, while riding their scoots.
Please wear your helmets guys and gals. Save your your family, friends, and self from a headache.
