Just bought the above scooter for my son to ride to his new apprenticeship. Only paid £50. Bargain. Brought it home wouldn't start. Drained petrol put some fresh from my Bandit and she started. Couple of thing though. White smoke when revving ? Is this normal ? Been standing for about six months. Also when engine running it sound really tight like something is rubbing within that shouldn't be and when i switch her off she stops almost instantly with that friction sound ? Any suggestions much appreciated. Revs OK all electrics work etc.... Many thanks... TONY Update... Thought it might not be getting its two stroke oil. Traced pipework back to what looks like a valve and oil there. Really small bore pipe coming off that valve?? to carb and when ticking over no oil comes out and when revving its barely a dribble. is this how it should be ?

The Suzuki FA-50 I recently bought did the same thing with the white smoking. It had say for a while as well. It cleared up over time as I rode it. You also may have built up unburned 2 stroke oil in your exhaust system. You can remove exhaust and place into a charcoal fire for 10 mins. on each side. Let it cool and shake the ashes out of it. I know it sounds funny, but it gets all the build up out. Your other issue sounds like a stuck piston ring which will also cause excessive smoking. You can remove the spark plug and put automatic transmission fluid in the cylinder leave the plug out and turn the engine over a few turns. Put more fluid in the cylinder re install plug and let set for 24 hours. Pull the plug turn the engine over to blow out fluid. Re install plug and see if that helps. If not you may need a new ring kit.
