i have a 02 yamaha/ minarelli 50cc 2t, i removed both restrictors and i need to know how big do i go with the main jet? it is a #64, but after a plug chop it looks lean and it acts like its running out of gas on top speed and climbing hills also what is the ideal rpm range for power on this engine?

If it's totally stock, I think a 78 main is stock (it was on my zuma when I bought it). What restrictors did you remove? You might need to upjet to accomodate those modifications. And proper rpm range for a stock zuma is around 4,500-7,500 rpm.

gregw, the vino has a #64 main from the factory according to the service manual, i upped it to a #71 today, its stupid fast on take off but is still stumbling at wot and on hills, gonna tweak more tomorrow, gonna take gas tank off and check fer water, i hit 45.6 mph down hill earlier, stock original belt and rollers they were 5.5 gram but i ground half a gram out of each with a dremmel just to see if i gained any top speed, looks like i gained .6 mph.. oh ya the restrictors i removed was the one in the exhaust and the one in on the variator

I used a 75 MJ with a 19mm carb on my 2T . Put on a small Uni and 90 MJ wow it was much better

have to agree...a #64 is WAY to small...unless you own a weedeater..I typically put in a #72 for folks if all else is stock.
