Running an 08' Benelli x50i w/70cc polini, 4g rollers, 2k springs on perf clutch, hitting 47 on gps w/jet drilled to 0.0365" (about a 96 I think)
Even though the manual say it's an 18mm carb, it's only 14mm. 14mm is obviously too small to feed the 70cc, so do I buy an 18, or do I go bigger to go faster? Don't want to loose the oil injection with the flat race carb./.
I want this thing to go fast as I can without putting a new 110cc drivetrain in it.
Thanks for any input on carb/reed valve combo your experience has!
Peace

A 14mm is not obviously too small. A 10 might be. When I went from my 12mm to my 21mm, I noticed only a small (high rpm only) improvement, and when I installed the 21mm, I also installed the Polini "big bore" intake kit. Agian, only a small improvement. If you have a 14mm already, I'd leave it, unless you really need the extra 3 mph top speed that a 21mm carb might give you. There's no replacement for displacement. Oh, and using the oil injector with a bigger carb will lean out your oil/fuel ratio a little. Just because a seller advertises "can be used with stock oil injector", doesn't always mean it should be. I converted my oil resevour to a fuel cell, added an extra 0.25 gallons to my gas tank, running premix. Good luck!

I have a 19mm carb on my 72cc BBK 2T and it runs great . Many of the power kits come with a 21mm carb . Scrappy has a few carbs for 50 or so I would get a larger one to have more flow that what you have and you will have to try a few jets until its in the sweet zone

Well, I dig experimentation and want to go as fast as I can make it go...thats all I needed to get me on the search for a decent 19mm. More flow = power. I don't mind playing with jetting, just takes me a while.
Muniki? Clone? I would like to keep oil injection...I'll check out Scrappy

Wow Polini is a great brand . Make sure to do a plug chop to see how the jetting is here is a chart to look at www.4secondsflat.com/plug_chart.html Any bog you should rejet asap . Well I had a small Uni airfilter and actually a vent cover and it ran great but tried a big Uni it had just a lil bog at bottom end but ran great once the RPMs were up and dang it had a soft seize and luckily I already a a BBK waiting to get installed I like Motul 710 2T oil the best and its what I use in my scooter

No bog since I put bb's and a flange over the spring seat. I know Im running a bit rich, bc I"m terrified of a soft seize. I've got a bunch of jets, progressivly increasing size until diminshing results at full throttle. Checking plug regularly, I'd say it looks like plug 7-9 on the chart you shared (thanks!) The single screw holding the silencer strap on wiggled out on my ride last night and scratched the sh!t out of it as it tumbled down the road.
Where do I get the jog90 spring narrow enough that it doesn't bind on the clutch? The 2k spring I got from scrappy pushes out on the clutch so its tight on the bell...

The 2k springs can wear out the belt faster so keep an eye on it . If you have a forward mounted intake then you can use the Hoca or NCY intake with carbon fiber reeds . I was shocked to learn that some have metal reeds as I thought they were fiberglass , and after reading about Teddys reed failure I am going to get CF reeds since they are less likely to break and more responsive . I have read nothing but good reviews on how this part really improves the action of the CVT and I will be getting one soon eshop.mainelyscooters.com/by-brand/hoca/169-281You are wise to run a lil rich as I too prefer to as well . I use Motul 710 full synthetic 2T oil and like it even though its 17 a quart and it only smokes at start up where my pedal mopeds left a com trail with cheap oil . Should you get to where you have the money up , an EFI kit will help like this one www.ecotrons.com/2_Stroke_Small_Engine_EFI_kit.html . My Echarm is my first small engine with EFI and WOW it is superior over a carburetor with better starts , MPG and performance

I took a look at what carb is on my Benelli x50 and it said PZ19JB so it has a 19mm with a 80 main jet. Who makes this carb? and what type of jets does it take? If i put a 70 mm cyl kit in it what jet size should i use? 85 or 90?

Thanks for any input on carb/reed valve combo your experience has! Peace You should fine as you are....NOTHING is restricted on those. I owned one and it is one of the fastest production 50cc scoots made...aside from the Aprilla SR50. Right out of the crate mine did 48 GPS mph...once broken in 50-51 was easy. What speeds are you getting..and how many miles on it? Up jetting the carb most likely won't improve anything as it already tuned for performance to the specifications Mario Andretti himself was looking for. Hence the reason he endorses it with his name...owns a few...and rides them regularly as pit bikes when he attends races. A free flow filter and up jet are not going to improve anything as it is jetted for optimal performance and the airbox is not as restrictive as stock scoot airboxes already. A performance variator may give you bit of a gain...but they already come with a larger CVT with steeper and longer ramps. You are already flat out flying for a 50cc engine...so want more power and speed..a BBK and up gears in the transmission are about the only thing left to do. But of course with a BBK you will then need to up jet. They sure ride smooth don't they? The way the seat shape and seat height is designed it feels like riding a crotch rocket motorcycle.. Only reason I sold mine is due to the seat height of 34" where most scoots are 30"...and I only have a 31" inseam...so at stops I was on my 'tippie toes" btw...what 110cc drivetrain is gonna fit that? Do tell...I was not aware of any 110cc gears that would fit the QJ engines..or any Minarelli engine for that matter.... lastly with a big bore kit on those already hot rod scoots...you MUST adjust your oil pump to compensate for the extra cc's plus the diluted oil/gas ratio due to a larger carb. Here is a VERY important link on that I wrote for another site.. I had to set mine about 5mm past the index marks...to give extra oil 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=3151
