In the course of my search for a new 2-stroke scoot, I came across two used scoots: A 2005 E-Ton Beamer II and a TGB Key West (Not sure of the year). Both are Taiwan manufactured, so the quality should be about equal and better than the cheaper chinese stuff. Price is the same, but the TGB has a lot less miles on it.
So, any opinions as to which one would be a better buy?
I researched and found that the TGB uses a Franco-Morini engine, which means that there are less "go fast" parts available. I'm not sure what engine is used in the E-ton, but I think that I read that they use a proprietary CDI.
My goal is to get a scoot that will do mid 40's after de-restriction...would either of these be a good candidate?
Any thoughts, opinions, etc., would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
