I came upon, bought, a large frame chrome tarted Vespa p125x with 2091 miles on it, flat tires, had been stored. It is a two stroke self - oiler and with new battery and michelins it runs 55 with no problem. It has drum brakes - is a four speed. I changed fluids and now ride it Saturday's to Starbucks etc,, I paid $1,500 for it. It is a 79 that was not sold until 81 due to California clean air law. Had to be shipped out of state for the dealer to sell. I love it but want a modern scooter with disc brakes, automatic and four stroke engine - perhaps a SYM200 or such. Question is, did I over pay and how much should I ask for it when I sell to get the modern scoot? Didn't mention that the owner, an architect, had it stored in his garage when he died.
