i tore apart my 2 stroke 2005 chain driven scoot i bought for 100 bucks cleaned it up good carb and all bought a new battery its not getting gas no gas comes out the hoses when you crank it trying to decide if its the petcock or the fuel sending unit or is there a shut off on the tank, carb or somewhere on the scoot

is the hose sealed tight on the nipple, also you by sucking with your mouth is about 5 times more vacuum.... not joking either, then the vac connection. i would take the petcock off and clean it out large debris can get stock in them

millsc...you starting your own scooter fleet or something?.. ;D Chain driven you say....is it a Geely or Sundiro? Qingqi also made a qm50qt-b2 called the Kasea 5A. The post above was very true..when you suck the vacuum line by mouth..there is more suction than the engine actually gives. Check this out as I see it lots on scoots....look at where your vac line connects..see how big the hole is?...Toothpick size...now look inside the carb and see how big it is there..sewing needle size. Not getting much vacuum with that lil pin hole. Some the hole is the same size all the way through. NOT telling you to try this...but I do it on my scoots and for others..I use a drill that matches the vac line connection on the carb...and drill it so the whole tube is the same size. One good test you can do...if your vac line has a T or Y connector due to emissions devices....clamp off the line on the emissions side and see if you get better flow. If you do...bypass it using just a straight nipple connecting the vac line to the petcock. I have had a few customers buy a new petcock....and still get no flow...so I pinch the emissions vac line hose with my fingers n say.."Now try it"..and they get flow. Post a pic of your vac and fuel line setup....and the scoot..that way folks here can better help you...and understand your setup and what you have

Provided he remembers to shut it off ;D lmao...reminded me of my drunken neighbor and his old Honda CB500...he always forgets to close the petcock...partially sobers up in the morning.....goes outside..and swears like hell that some dirty b@stard keeps siphoning his gas...

Well he asked for a shutoff valve but if he sucked on the Petcock that was on there and gas flowed out that is not his problem and he is barking up the wrong tree. The Vacuum hose may be connected to the wrong connector or a leaking vacuum line further down or worse no compression. Wile Agreed..and confused. If he sucks on van line he gets gas out of fuel line...but if he sucks on vac line while fuel hose is connected to carb...he gets no gas...but how would he know that since you can't see through the carb to tell if it is getting gas...

I'm going to assume that the vacuum hose was connected to the motor side of the carb (where the vacuum is) and not the aircleaner side of the carb (where no vacuum is)..?. Sometimes there is a nipple that just vents the float bowl (you don't want that one)
