hi i bought a cpi aragon 50cc 2 stroke for my son which now wont start. i checked the spark first which seems fine, checked the spark plug which was a good colour and dry so looked at the fuel. it was getting fuel to the carb so cleaned it out,it still didnt start so checked the compression which was low, i have stripped the engine and the piston had picked up so replaced the piston and barrel. its started fine but after around 400 meters it cut out again and wont start. compression is still fine, can anyone please help as iam lost now.

Hi Peter, I imagine your carb is a slider type THROTTLE CABLE going into the top of the carb. Are you mixing the oil with the gas or does it have an oil tank?
Anyways on the carb you should see two screws one in the center and either Right of center near the airfilter or one on the Left near the Intake Manifold.
The Center screw is your IDLE SCREW turning that clockwise raises the Idle turning that counter clockwise lowers the idle.
If there is a screw to the RIGHT of center that is your AIR RATIO MIXTURE screw. Turning that Clockwise RICHENS the mixture and Counter Clockwise LEANS the mixture.
If the screw is LEFT of center that is a FUEL RATIO MIXTURE scarew. Turning that Clockwise LEANS the mixture and Counter Clockwise RICHENS the mixture.
So which ever one you have RICHEN the mixture turn it 1/4 turns at a time and try to start it.
Once it starts then you can fine tune it better. Wile
