Hi All,
I bought a YY50QT-7A italia type scooter last weekend on craigslist for $100. It's missing the seat, gas cap and mirrors. I can't seem to find a replacement seat for this model online so I guess I'll try and fab one out of plywood + some foam and vinyl.
Anyhow, I'min Atlanta now which doesn't require registration for under 50cc but we're moving to Memphis in two weeks. It looks like Tennessee requires registration for these guys.
My question is has anyone encountered a similar situation and been able to get a title or registration without? I don't have the MCO since the seller saved it from a junk yard but I could get a bill of sale I'm sure. Any advice would be great.
Thanks, Ray

Well in Michigan you dont get a title, you just register it and you only need a bill of sale.

i recently looked this up (you can too, Tennessee motor vehicle laws can be found online), and no, TN does have the exception for under-50cc where the design speed maximum is 30mph. You should not need a tag in Memphis, nor across the river in Arkansas. (But I am not sure if there is a legal way for a 50cc to get across that river! The bridges are Interstate highways.) Arguably as a TN resident, you should be fine scooting around the south suburbs in MS, also, but I'd be careful about that. Enjoy.
