Today I bought a 2005 E-ton Beamer Matrix with 600 miles on it for $500. Was driving fine until just a while ago when I stopped at the grocery store I came back and found a part laying on the ground. I'm not too mechanically inclined to know what this part could be but surely someone on here will recognize it. Still runs without the part on it but cuts out big time. Ran just good enough to make it about 3 miles home. Any ideas? May have to use my actual camera because this is a phone picture and didn't come out too great. Attachments:

Airbox, it holds the filter for your carburetor and engine. do re install it asap.

I did some research after posting this and figured out it was an airbox. hopefully it didn't damage it getting home with no airbox. wasn't too far to get home. Will no airbox make it run bad? Thanks for the help

Your airbox balances the your air fuel mixture, so yes more than likely running without it will make you lean and your scoot will run crappy..

the diagram I found of the part looks like it has a hose piece that connects to it? from the picture above does it look like I'm missing a piece?

should check one of the links on this forum for carb cleaning. Mind awell get familiar with it since thats the lungs for your bike before you put on a new airbox.

yea I gotta work on that part. are airboxes somewhat universal or make/model specific? I'm doubting I'm going to find one locally

probably not locally unless you have alot of scooter shops in your area. www.partsforscooters.com has alot of OEM parts at good prices, Matt is really good to work with.

well there are a few scooter shops here but no E-ton specific dealers. That's why I was curious if they are specific or universal

From it's picture it looks like airbox. I think you should find a mechanic as soon as possible and re install airbox. You can easily find any scooter workshop where you can re install it.
