The Moskito that I donated to a high school student just up and quit out of no where. It had been running great, he rode up to a traffic light and quit, it would not restart. Luckily he was close enough to home to push it there, I checked the spark and fuel petcock all was good next the fuel filter and it was good, the next step is to clean the carb unless I am missing something.

Spark is good- good Checked the fuel petcock- You checked it to ensure it was on? That's a nice thing to do but you need to see if fuel is getting into the cylinder. My highly disliked quick and dirty method for doing this is taking a long BBQ grill lighter ( not a match) and after cranking the engine over for a bit- remove the spark plug and see if there are any flammable gasses in the cylinder. if there are it will result in a momentary flame or a flame that slowly burns outside the spark plug hole for a short moment.
Also check your compression.Who knows what can happen from the driveway to the stop sign. The finger test is a quick check I like. place finger over ( not in ) the spark plug hole and crank engine over at full throttle. It should blow your finger off the hole with ease.

Thanks, compression is still good, fuel is getting to the carb. It will run on either and then quit. I suspect a clogged jet, I am in the process of removing the carb.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Take special note of the idle-fuel adjustment screw, and its circuit, you'll probably find your issue there.

found the culprit, this was stuck in the needle valve opposite the float. I removed the seat of the valve and found the gob of dirt, now to put it back together. It does not take much to shut down one of these 50 cc 2 stroke fuel systems.
