I have a 2008 MC54-250B with about 10200 miles on it. The plastic circular window on the side of the front brake fluid reservoir is cracked. I actually put my thumb through it by accident. (I was at a stoplight and the front brake felt lever had more travel then normal. I went to look through window to see fluid level but it appeared dirty so I tried trying to rub dirt off of it. My thumb went right through the window. It must have deteriated by the sun.)
Is there a way to replace the plastic circular window or should I just buy a replacement master cylinder?
Could I remove the damaged plastic and use clear epoxy to form a new window?
Thanks Jim

I have heard that it is possible to fix this but I would find a new master cylinder that matches and replace it. I replaced mine for $30 but it might not be the same as yours. Got mine at Scrappydogs. www.scrappydogscooters.com/Flagship_style_chassis.htmlThird item down on page.

If you buy a master cylinder make sure you get one with threads for your mirror.

Fill the window with silicone. $1.99 for a tube of RTV
ChipĀ out what remains of the plastic. Use carb spray to remove crumbs and brake fluid residue. Silicone in window. Let dry 24 hours. Refill and bleed. Done!
Nothing to buy, no waiting for shipping, no shipping charges, you are on the road in 24 hours.
