Hi guys. 2 weeks ago running about 60 mph my drive shaft snapped. Ordered a new shaft and installed it. Put back together, added gear oil and away I go. Problem...I now have a vibration that appears to be coming from the variator area. While driving at speed it kind of hums and I can feel the vibration in my feet. When I let off the throttle it feels like it's still engaged until I slow way down or hammer on the brakes. At that time it seems to go back to neutral instead of wanting to keep pushing the bike. I vaguely remember hearing this sound before the shaft snapped that day. Could a problem with the variator actually cause the shaft to break and if yes what do I need to do to be a able to tell that something isn't right? I watched some youtube videos if taking the variator off and they show some type of rollers inside. Could the rollers possibly be bad and causing this vibration? The rear where the gears are sound ok. Any ideas would be appreciated. I hope I explained the problem well enough. Thanks in advance.

You might have a roller turned in there or maybe the clutch area needs some maintenance, my was also seemed to be engaged at stop sign, my ckutch was so bad I could not even sqeeze it to take the belt off, so I had to take both variator and clutch off at the same time, took clutch apart cleaned, greased, sanded clutch pads, put back together, working good now.

Yep, that's exactly what I did to mine this morning. Had a roller turned. I also cleaned everything from the variator to the clutch and sanded them down. Watched some youtube videos last night and thought, what the heck, may as well try it. Back to normal. Thanks for the only reply.
