Hello, my first post ever! I recently bought a CFMoto Fashion 250. I really like the scoot! Even at 255 lbs. it pulls me well. I have a question about initial throttling. When I am taking off from a start and the clutch is first engaging it kind of grabs and jerks some instead of a smooth take-off. It has 8,000 miles on it, and was figuring that the belt or variator might be worn and not working quite correctly. But recently I starting thinking its probably the clutch because it ONLY does it when I am first moving, and never when I am already rolling. Have any of you guys ever had this experience. set your idle somewhere between 1500 and 2k rpm. when giving gas from a standstill give enough to fully engage the clutch. mine will snatch and grab if i slowly give it throttle under certain conditions.
oil and grease on the shoes might cause grabbing.

More than likely the clutch pads have become glazed. You can take the clutch bell off and use some medium grit sandpaper to rough up the pad surfaces some. Use the sandpaper on the inner surface of the bell also. Wipe/blow the dust out of everything and put it back together and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys! I'll try the clutch glazed sanding first and let you know back if that fixes the problem. And yes, if I give it good throttle it will not grab so much, but it still should roll right out, Leo, maybe you should chek if your's might be glazing possibly to.

If your too light on the throttle when taking off the clutch might not be fully engaged to the bell and slip some which will wear it out and glaze it up . You will not hurt it by taking off at WOT as CFmoto is well made anyways .
Now when a belt is worn some it may also slip . I have 7,700 miles on my belt and it still works great . At 5,550 miles I put in silders and compared my belt to a new one and I could not see and diff .
My Echarm can support up to 330 lbs so I am sure your not too heavy for yours . Now you can put in lighter rollers to be able to take off easier and faster

I have a couple of buddies with a RK 54B. They have the same problem. Their clutch engages so soon that you barely twist the throttle and you are moving. Per the tach at about 2000 rpms. You also get a bouncing shutter from the bike and a squeak as the belt grabs and slips around the clutch pulley. The clutch glaze removal works for about 100 miles then it comes back. What I have found is it seams that even with 2000miles on there bikes their clutch shoe springs are stretched. I tried using a set of 1500 yellow springs for a 150 as per a recommendation from one of the above retailers. It didn't work they stretched out super quick. Anyone know a good online retailer for 250 honda clone parts so we can find these clutch shoe springs springs.

My Roketa Bali 250 is the same engine in the Helix. It is the engine revs a bit before the belt catches. Not alot but a little. This is a normal feeling, with a CVT transmission. As soon as it engages the clutch it will squeel rubber if given to much throttle. Cleaning the clutch and pullys helps get rid of shuttering. Use a dry clothe to get the dust off the clutch and pullys. We live off a gravel road so I am cleaning it once per month.
