I have to defend Piaggio (and although not included in the put-down, Vespa who's owned by Pia). When I went into the ditch, my dealer got the new fender in and installed within a week or so. Later on I got the footboard and the black bumper thingy along the fairing and that didn't take much more than a week to come in. Oh yeah, and a mirror, too. Although that did take maybe a couple weeks longer.
I'm thinking that other guy might've had his problems when Piaggio was moving their entire American offices to a different state. That's why my mirror took a bit longer to come in.
As for the ride etc, I'm probably not the best to tell you as I haven't ridden a lot. But it's comfortable, not a hard ride at all (bless those 16" wheels!). And I suspect my Harley friend took mine for a good fast spin before I was legal--he wouldn't tell me how fast he hit, just that it's a peppy little bike with a lot of zip. And much more nimble than his cruiser. My 200cc is supposed to be able to hit 70+. So that 350cc should cruise at your required 55-65 very easily indeed.
Btb, my dealer said the BV will always be faster than the Vespas due to the larger tires. And have a nicer ride, too. Otherwise you probably can't go wrong with any of them.
The main thing is go sit on each one. See which feels most comfortable. Are you reaching for handles/ground on any? (although that's not so likely with your heighth) Do any make you feel scrunched in, even if you're not really scrunched?
Then test drive each, if the dealers will let you. My dealer would even let you take a day-long drive if you needed.
And check into the service, too. Although that can change. I bought mine partly 'cause they were a mile away from home. And then early last year the owners decided to drop Piaggio (followed a few months later by all the bikes) So don't make that your main reason to choose one over the other. Fit and comfort first, service after.
