You won't have to remove the handlebars, but there's a lot involved in disassembling the dash to reach the back of the ignition switch if bhinch's tips don't fix the problem. There are some great threads on the forum specifically about disassembling and repairing the linhai 300, complete with photos. Great scoot, by the way. I've had mine nearly 3 years. Have fun!

I've had similar issues with my LH300, and have isolated it to the kill switch. While I haven't replaced it yet, I don't use the kill switch anymore (just use the key to turn it off).
Have you tried flipping the kill switch a few times and see if it starts again after that?

Raha, out of curiosity, where did you buy yours? I have a month-old Aeolus 300, too, and have had nothing but problems with the dealer (Rider's Wholesale). No paperwork, no free helmet, bag, saddle bags. I've decided today is going to be when it hits the fan (if I can get someone to answer the phone).

Well, I bought mine at the same place you bought yours (riderswholesale.com also known as Mooser Moto)and I can not get them to answer the phone either. I filled out an MCO request early last week and have not heard a word from them. There needs to be something done about a company like theirs but where to start?I have tried 4 times this am to contact them with no luck. I hate tto drive 500 miles to talk to someone but if I do not get an answer from these people I will go to NC.If I have to do that more than likely I will be spending some time there(in jail))

I called this morning around 10:30 Eastern time, and a lady named Barbara picked up. I told her it was a month since I got my scooter, but couldn't do anything with it due to a lack of MCO and helmet. Explained that I was running up against a time limit to get it registered (no idea if OH actually has that limit, but it sounded good) and then threatened to do a credit card chargeback.
She sounded much more excited than in previous calls, and promptly sent over a copy of the order via email (had never gotten any kind of documentation from them before), so maybe that actually kick-started them into action. I gave them a deadline of next Wednesday to have the MCO and my freebies sent over, so we'll see if anything happens.
If you read the BBB reports online for Mooser Motorsports, they seem to be piling up more frequently of late. I wonder if the company is circling the drain?
The waiting sucks...

Brent, I tried to call them 4 times yesterday with no luck but when I checked my e mail this a.m.I had a note saying my MCO was sent out yesterday.(2 weeks after request) I hope they were telling the truth. Can only wait and see.I still have the issue with the short in the switch but have a service manual on the way and will tear it down when it arrives.I so wish I had spent a few hundred dollars more and ordered it from another dealer. The cheapest is not always the best.If anyone reads this post that is considering buying a new scoot, I urge you to not only research the price of the scoot but also research the dealer so they will not have to deal with the issues that you and I have dealt with.At 66 yo I am still learning.

Got a pleasant surprise today. The MCO showed up in the mail! I'm sure it was just a coincidence that it showed up Monday after chewing them out and threatening to do a chargeback on Friday... Now, waiting on the helmet and other freebies. The clock is still ticking for my Wednesday deadline. Today is day 28 for my order, so if you get yours sooner raha, you're doing better than me! Brent

The ignition switch if bad will cause the scoot to die even while riding. You probably need a new ignition switch. Costs 25$. Easy to change. Just make sure you match ignitions correctly. There are several different styles of ignition switches. I know this because I posted last week a question about ignition switch replace because my scoot was vandalized. They broke steering wheel lock on ignition switch then scoot would not start at all. Not even kick start. It is a safety mechanism to prevent scoot from being stolen. Once you change this part and connect 4 prong connector scoot started up like it never was broken. Good luck. You will need small wrench set 5/16 for mine.

Before you chase the ignition switch -- are the tail light bulbs still glowing when it dies, does the horn still work, does the starter work when it has died, do the headlights flash when you push the flash to pass button?

Welcome to the club fellas....:-). If you look on this forum under "SAGA 250cc keeps Stalling!" you will find my horror story with the exact same symptoms. It's very unnerving to have a bike that you are riding at 80k's an hour suddenly SHUT OFF on you while you are rolling in traffic! We have been able to get in touch with the dealer who happens to be in my same town. Told him day one we wanted our money back because the bike shut off before I even got it out of his parking lot. It has been in the shop 5 times IN 6 WEEKS! Two of those times he kept it for over 8 days. It's in there now! Go figure. I hear that this bike (which happens to look identical to the one posted about here) has the same Linhai engine..
I would have uploaded a pic, but couldn't seem to get it uploaded. But if you go to SAGA Canada site, you will see it is identical to yours and I have had the same ignition issues for weeks!
These bike are just poorly contructed. No one should have to do all of the work on a brand new bike. I will never do business with SAGA Canada again. Long story, but we got in touch with the distributor who told us he never wanted to see the bike in his shop again. The bike is under warranty, so it ain't like he is doing us some kind of a favor. His mechanic/dealer guy couldn't fix it. Sheesh, what a mess! NEVER AGAIN FOLKS.....NEVER AGAIN. And they have both flatly refused to give us a refund even though we have been demanding one since the first week. I have sent purchased a Kymco Bet and Win 250cc. Not nearly as comfortable as it is not a cruiser, but at least it starts and it RUNS all the time. I have the other listed for sale.

Raha that stinks, but I've been there. Right before 4 weeks, I called and clearly stated what I would do if I didn't receive what they owed me by a certain date (credit card chargeback, file claim with BBB). I hated to be a jerk about it, but their lack of response and repeated broken promises forced my hand. That was a Friday, and magically, the MCO showed up on Monday (with a Friday postmark). Follow up the call with an email laying out the same points. They don't meet it, file with your card. I still haven't received the "freebies" it was supposed to come with, so there's a chargeback for what I feel they're worth on my card now. Being investigated by AMEX now. I figured a "free" helmet wouldn't be very good, so I broke down and bought one from a local cycle shop. And if the chargeback goes uncontested, I'll have gotten enough back to pay for my new helmet! I had a similar problem on my 260T. Left sitting with a total, no-start. With the ignition switch and kill switch on, I had power to the dash, turn signals, etc. I reached up under the body panel and pulled out the ignition solenoid along the frame on the right side. On the side of the relay, it has a small flange under which the small wires run (not the heavy gauge ones). The wires go under it, then up, then are bent 180° bacl down and connect with the solenoid. I pulled a little more wire up through the flange and straightened up the previously bent section. Guess what? Started right up and has been fine ever since.
