They stay hot as long as the motor is running. Once you shut the motor off no more voltage is sent to the ENICHER and the PLUNGER RETRACTS to feed extra fuel for the next cold start. It starts to get hot once you start the motor and the PLUNGER Starts to EXTEND out to cut off the extra fuel within 3-4 minutes. But it keeps getting Voltage to keep the PLUNGER extended. Wile

ok, thanks wile, I notice recently the idle is rough and sometimes it bogs starting out at the stop light and loosing power, pulling off road, but its still running, then I can go again. Maybe due fopr valve adjustment.

i've replaced my enricher about 4 times and i finally got tired of fooling with it. snatched up 2 of the old enrichers and a hacksaw and went to work. i tore the first one up to see how it was put together and how it worked. i used my new found knowledge to cut the second one in the right place and to completely block the choke off. i used a spring and a piece of wire between the 2 mounting screws to hold it all in place. the scoot starts pretty good until the temp gets to about 50 or so, then i have to manually choke it by holding my hand over the airbox intake.

Found the problem, my intake to carb clamp was loose. (This clamp is new, but it keeps working loose) don't they make clamp that when its tight it stays tight?

this is the new clamp I put on the intake, with vibration can they work loose use a round shoulder clamp on the carb to intake connection to prevent the clamp from biting into the manifold. hose type clamps do not generally work loose with rubber.

You could also twist the throttle a few times for the accelerator pump to squirt a little fuel into the intake stream to prime it if you have the mechanically actuated one.
