Hey guys, in the process of swapping the motor out of my 05 Motofino for a 08 150cc. It had the pair emissions on it but ive already blocked it. I have to make an exhaust, as for some reason there was none at all with the 150cc moped I bought for the swap. Already adjusted the valves on it and put my OEM 500cc back tire on the 150cc assembly. Ive also done weight reduction stage 2 on the motofino. I took out every wire except ignition , voltage regulator and cdi (and the bundle that runs inside the engine). I will wire an led brake/running light and one headlight later down the road.Im going to lighten it a little more before I complete the swap. I am going to jet it up and probably run a resonated exhaust tip as a muffler. Going to run an a9 cam as well as port the exhaust a little. Heres some pics from tonight. Engine is not mounted yet. Going to wait for tomorrow to start on that, too tired tonight.

A 500cc scooter built ? How fast can it go ? What kind of motorcycle is that in the pictures ?
Did you stretch the frame on the black scooter ? If so advantages or looks ? I would not think it would have trouble keeping the front tire on the ground as I have seen motorcycles with a longer swing arm .
Looks like its going together good and I would like to see pictures and info when you have it finished

Sorry it was a "50"cc not 500. My keys stick sometimes.
The frame is not stretched but I am thinking about having the tire stick out the back just a little, just for looks. Like that last pic there.
That is my GSXR 750cc but that is not the topic of this thread haha

umm man gsxr in the photo, i gotta ask why do a motor swap on a scoot. i gots a buell and some days i wonder why i ride a scooter most of the time. For one very simple reason... COST. Everything is so cheap for them (well except the watercooled BBKs) Also they are so easy to work on and lots of fun

Show us how you are mounting the motor to the frame. How is this working out? But anyways, im working on installing the 50cc axle shaft in the 150cc trans and my wheel will bolt up just like stock did. Here one I welded a 150 to a 50 frame. 205cc soon to be a 232cc i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy341/NASRA2009/DSC02223.jpg

I am going to weld it and weld braces also into the frame for it. It is just bolted to the frame right now.
The axle will work fine, im just having issues with getting the nut off the clutch. Ive tried two impacts on it and it still wont budge.

Did you get the mount kit from scrappy? I thought the mounts were completely different from 50 to 150.

That inner ring of the intake is going to break, it is what recently killed my scoots engine (port matched head and intake). A little Leicester of it broke into the engine and caused the rings to melt to the piston. I would say remove the inner ring all together and use some RTV or glue the o-ring into place

Thank You MR.SCOOT So my exhaust ripped apart on me earlier from where i had the dyno nitrous shop extrusion port my stock header and I guess that had made the metal too thin. So now I am having to make my own custom headpipe from the stock one and some aftermarket larger tubing for more power for the hole-shot. Ive also cleaned up my wiring and stuff a little bit

I also took MR.SCOOTS advice and am now proud to say i am running these three different oils and no other. He has shown me a proven timeslip where he gained .5 mph using these brands over the others!! It sure does feel snappier....maybe its just in my head.. we will see

Exhaust Mock Up. Just needs welding now. The new pipe that will be welded to the flange is the same exact size as the port in the head now. It should work nicely. Dyno Numbers will be posted once its back together

Can you show pics of the engine mounts. I am about to swap a 125 in my 50. Mine started out the same as yours. It's changed some since then.

You probably will need to re-tune the carb. Ever notice that the intake valve is always a lot larger than the exhaust. There has got to be some reasons for that.
