Well I can see I'am not alone in all this my wife got a cheap 50cc just to get around town three months later I came home to a 250 ---I flipped since only 60 day manufacture warranty and no support from seller of course crap after 8 month of fighting and a judge got replaced with 150 I just fell into this place trying to get ready for help to keep it running
I see already that I found a good place and I think I just found a new hobby By the way after all this my wife dumped the 50 now she is scared to ride the 150 and i have been using it to get back and fourth to work

I have purchased a scoot and an atv from atvdiscounter and have had a good outcome. the scoot orignal papers were not what my dmv wanted and they over nighted new papers to the WV DMV. Haven't needed any parts. My scoot is a roketa honda clone. Hope things work out well for you!

Okay, just signed up for this forum today. I had an Aprilia scooter that I was an IDIOT and sold last fall (getting laid off makes you panic and I should not have done this! Hindsight!) So now am in the Market for a new one. I need to get my motorcycle endorsement so I can hang with the "big boys" or at least hit 65mph! but I am no daredevil! Are the Roketa 150cc scooters Chinese Crap or what? Thanks!!! Kd Well

This is way too much fun! You did something I have fantasized about for a good while. It's really great of you to allow us to watch this drama. Thanks very much and good luck with it.

The main thing with them is constantly making sure those valves are adjusted. I see TOO MANY of them come back in, not running, because the valves came from the factory over tightened and the valves smacked the piston bending the valves and sometimes cracking the piston.

I got a Zen-King 150cc for around $1400 and was very surprised at the quality after taking off the panels and checking it all out.

I actually did same thing as OP.
I researched for over a month, then abandoned the place I was going to buy from at the last second, got on ebay, Found the place with the best seller rating, and ordered a bike I had been eyeballing for a while. before buying off ebay, The closest dealer for chinese scooters I could find was 200 miles away from me. I was gonna drive down to him and get one, but then I found the same bike on ebay for 200 less than he wanted, and the seller rating was 99.5%. On the other hand, the dealer ship guy was not a BBB business. I couldn't find reviews on the dealer at all. And if I went out of state to buy his scooter, I would have to pay sales tax in that state, and when I get it back to mine, I'd have to pay it again when I register the scooter. so all in all, buying off ebay gave me a really great deal, my purchase was covered buy EBAY buyers protection, and I also emailed and talked to the seller 2 or 3 times before I bought it and They always contacted me back pretty quickly, so I'm hoping thats a good sign if I ever need to call in a parts warranty. All in all, I'm really happy with the money I saved getting off ebay, with a buyer protection guarantee, and I still got the bike for 200 less than a dealer wanted for it. Im using the money I saved on that to buy all good parts to replace the crappy chinese ones when I do my post delivery inspection

bought mine online too. not cheap BUT cheaper than San Francisco dealers. waiting to hear all about the erst who did the same. had my 150cc chinese scooter 2 months now and only 3 problems, newest being the speedometer and odometer not working, and the turn signals not flashing anymore, just staying on instead of blinking.

One piece of advice from a newbie to this forum. I bought 3 mainland China scoots from ebay a couple years ago, A Jonway for me and 2 Sunny's for my daughters. I found that they are very difficult to start with the first fueling. The issue is vacuum from the carb, acting on a dry fuel tank diaphragm valve. I quickly learned after the first scooter that getting fuel quickly to the carb is accomplished by pulling the vacuum line off the carb, then suck on the tube as hard as you can for about 30 seconds. Reinstall the line and she should light off instantly. Saves dragging down a brand new battery and starter wear and tear. As most of us are pron to crank away in frustration, usually exceeding starter run/cool down time limits.
