Spent the day adding these Aux driving lights to my scooter. They are Optilux 1450 12-Volt/55-Watt Rectangular Clear Halogen I bought from Amazon for $34.00 + shipping. First installed them right under the front cowling - side by side, but they were too close to the front fender and hit when turning. So I moved them forward a bit, same thing (thought it was ok, but after a test ride, I saw it was not, and the scraped paint on the front fender proves it..) So I moved them outside the wheel well to their current location, and all is well. Helps out allot with lighting up the road, and makes up for the weak stock head lamps that are adjusted wrong and broke so I can not adjust ever again I was testing and not running the engine, so I drained the battery pretty well. Seemed fine while engine was running, but drew allot of power, so the charging could not keep up. Will only use in the event of a total ride at night, which I avoid anyways, so I'm not worried about that as an everyday thing. But I still would like the option to ride with them on all the time or most times and not drain the battery. Suggestions? Attachments:

Ahh a man after my own heart! I'm awaiting delivery of a pair of Ice blue 55W halogens to fit as additional high beams. I'm wiring them directly to the scoots battery through a relay activated by the main beam switch. I calculate they will pull appx 10amps so I'll be using 15A wiring and a 12A fuse in the relay. I think it might be asking a little too much to have them on permanently but they should be ok as intermittent high beams. Why not fit some Waterproof high intensity LED strips to the front fairing. They're super bright, self adhesive, can be cut to length to fit your scoot panels perfectly and draw virtually no power so won't drain your battery if you leave them on permanently, you can wire them direct to your scoots sidelights so they can be used with sidelights and your main headlights. If you want to see how bright they are check my video clip out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVul-rboGs4When the video starts the white LEDs are so bright that they cause the camera to shut down its iris, you'll see as I move around the bike that it's actually early evening and still very light! If you want to know how to cut and wire the LEDs check out this link: chinesescoots.forumwise.com/chinesescoots-thread20413.htmlDave
