I see where Cycle Gear has some for 59 which is unreal cheap for just a fullface . I know its not a Shoei that average 300 . I get so many calls and have to stop and use speakerphone option or remove my helmet . I think it would be neat to have a blue tooth helmet . Im going to Cycle Gear and look at them since they get their truck shipments in on thursday and they stuff on sale does quick . I am going to ask if I can stream music to the bluetooth as I only used one a lil til the ear clip broke . When bluetooth was first coming out a guy at Radio Shack had a table with some to sell and tried to pitch me . I told him that I do not watch Star Trek and Ive been laid he was at a loss of words lol .
I would like to hear from any who have or least tried a bluetooth helmet and how it worked for them .

I have used a BT on my ear inside the helmet. I didn't like it and stopped pretty quickly. I have found that a) I don't want to try to answer the phone while driving anyway, and b) the engine and wind noise is loud enough even with a full face helmet to render any kind of conversation attempt pretty useless over about 25 mph.
It was also kind of uncomfortable, but I think if it were built into the helmet, you'd at least have the benefit of ergonomics that you don't have in a separate ear piece. Also, I'd hope they use a fairly loud speaker and a proactive noise canceling circuit. I'd still have issues answering the phone while riding; if I'm on 2 wheels, I want my concentration to be 110% on the road.

I'm in agreement with D Cat and Hank. We complain about cage riders being distracted by cellphones... kinda hypocritical condone this is it not ?

Whats a cage rider ? Yes I know it can result in a mishap and 99% of the time I simply pull over or wait till I get to where I was going . I would never suggest any to try what I have done since I am not like most people . I think a BT helmet could be neat and only 60 is a deal and yes it may not be a quality helmet but I would never get a modular or flip up full face as they seem too easy to be broken in a fall compared to a monoshell

Talking on BT is just like talking to someone in the car or bike intercom IMHO. No different, all distract the driver, however we are just more used to talking to a person than a device.

How safe is this exactly? I thought about this for music reasons or phone reasons; however, I don't know how the implications would be... I never text or talk while driving unless its for a few seconds on talking. I don't like not knowing what's happening around me.

Man I saw a 50cc'er going up Main St last week, going at least 45mph (and of course no helmet) and was texting and had a soda bottle pinched between his knee's...man if that didn't just take the cake I don't what would. Oh and I almost forgot...was on a four lane and was riding in the suicide lane in the middle.

I got thinking about this a little, and now I'm wondering... maybe it's not such a bad idea for a pillion. Thoughts?

One of the beauties of scooting for pleasure or a commute is the virtual solitude I enjoy in the midst of a noisy, crashing, demanding universe screaming for my attention almost every waking moment. The concentration riding demands thrusts everything distracting back to an event horizon. I'm in a world where nothing other than the ride exists. To me, that's the beauty and the pleasure of scooting, even in the middle of a galaxy of traffic or the emptiness of an open road. Forget the cell phone in any way, shape of form. Enjoy the moment the scooter supplies. You'll be back to the mundane, niggling, trivialities that full up lives soon enough.

I'm interested in getting a blue tooth helmet, not for music or cell phone.
We have three scooters in our group and we ride together quite a bit. It would be nice to talk to the other two scooters, etc.
We have CB's in out trucks, when we go 4x4 or just out to coffee, a bluetooth system seems like a natural.
Has anyone tried these systems on group rides?

I'm just getting comfortable with waving..... geesh some people have death wishes or just don't think scooters are real motorcycles and therefore not dangerous. Hell, sometimes I think you have to pay more attension on a scooter then a motorcycle as you are even smaller and underpowered (yes I know, sacraledge) and becuase of that, everyday situations can become even more dangerous if you don't pay attension.
