I tried searching, but oculdn't find anything, so I apologize if these has been asked already.
I have a 1992 Honda Elite 2 stroke scooter. What kind of oil should I use for this? I've already looked for scooter oils but it's extremely hard to find them around my area. Someone told me 15W30 would be fine. I just want to make sure.
Thanks

I am not a two stroke expert but you mix the oil with the gas ;D and you use 2 stroke labeled oil! I am pretty sure you can even use the 2 stroke oil that you use on your weed wacker. sold at any hardware store, walmart, kmart, in the garden area. even gas stations and auto parts stores should carry some type of 2 stroke oil

You have an Elite and it is 2 stroke? Are you sure? Sorry, I just thought that all the Elites were 4 strokes. Back whenI bought my wife's Elite the 2 strokes were called Aeros. 1984.

I just searched on google and found nothing for that brand saying its two strokes so yea you might be right. in that case If the scooter is a 4 stroke then just buy scooter oil and full the crankcase.

I use Pennsoil 2 stroke oil. Can be bought at most automotive parts place. I have used this oil in my RZ350 for thirty+ years, no problems. Also use it in my Keeway scooter with the same result.

Maybe it is a 4 stroke. That's just what the guy told me when I bought it. He bought it brand new back in 1992...so maybe he just doesn't remember. lol Thanks guys!

If its a 4 stroke scooter then go to your local Autozone or auto parts store and ask for a quart of 4 stroke oil usually the cheapest is castrol 4T or Valvoline 4 stroke. which should run about 5 dollars a quart. GOOD LUCK

Very simple to tell if it has a valve cover like the picture above its a 4 stroke. No valve cover its a 2 stroke. Billy

Even simpler is a dipstick. No dipstick=2 stroke

There is no dipstick, but you're right I can't find any Elite online that says it's a 2 stroke. Here's a picture... Attachments:

Bell Ray MC1 full synthetic is the best . Only use full synthetic as it smokes less and lubes better . Also it must say for injector on the bottle other wise its for premixing only . NEVER use crappy weedeater grade it smokes , does not perform as good and fouls out the sparkplug with deposits and will need to be cleaned off . I use carb spray and wipe with a rag and recheck the gap . NGK iridium works best , does not foul as easy as regular type , strats better and will outlast a normal plug . Great investment for around 10 where normal conductor is 3

I have been using Chastrol oil in my all vehicles. It is very good tonic for my vehicle's Engine. It is turned out a best lubricant oil for my Vehicles. It is the most trusted brand in the market.

Thanks I see this is an older post and hopefully you've got this figured out by now but for future readers with the same prob i will post what i know regarding this. I have an '88 Honda Elite and it is for sure a 2 stroke. I was told to ONLY use 2 cycle oil! It's self injected and all i need to do is raise the seat (trunk) and there are 2 caps...one for Gas & one for Oil. I love the oil i use, no smoke with a 2 stroke trailing behind me is awesome! I get it at the cycle shop and it's called: SuperM...Advanced Smokeless Formula. Ester Based Synthetic blend. Racing Formula. It's $8.00 a pint but well worth it to me. Hate that oil trail! lol Don't know where you live but they carry 2 cycle oil in a lot of stores around here, including Walmart.

This thread reminds me of a little 50cc Suzuki 2-stroke dirt-bike I had growing up. It was a 2-stroke so you had to mix the oil into the gas, but it also had a crankcase full of oil for the bottom end. That engine was a beast and I recently found the whole bike at a local pawn shop only a few years newer than the one I had. 300$ I'm tempted to buy it or bargain for it so my nephew can enjoy what i had growing up.

Oh and you should OverReved! As a riding family, when the kids were growing up, we had several bikes including the 2 strokes where you had to mix the oil and gas. I don't care what size the machine is they are all FUN to ride. This is MY first 'little' scooter and i'm havin' a ball!! ;D
