That scooter was manufactured in 2008. It may be *new* but it's been sitting in a warehouse for up to 4 years. Unless you plan on replacing all the rubber I'd stay away from it.

I ordered my 2008 250cc scooter from Killer Motor Sports in 2010. Their delivery was reasonably quick, about two weeks, and all the paperwork was done in a reasonable time, about a week including USPS delivery time.
As for needing to replace all rubber pieces, I haven't had to do that at all. My main concern was to get the cooling system working properly. The goop used in the cooling system allowed a lot of crud to build up in the cooling system and it took me a while and 3-4 flushes with a heavy dose of TSP and a disassembly and cleaning of the thermostat housing to get things working well. This would be an issue regardless where you order a 2008 scooter from.
My experience with Killer Motor Sports overall went well enough I would deal with them again.

My wifes MC-54 is a 2008 and have had no problems with rubber (other than the airbox falling apart). I had to change the vacuum fuel pump early on and while I was inside the plastic, I changed the fuel and vacuum lines to yellow Tyvec. 6500 miles and no problems. I think we got a good one lol.

There's nothing wrong with the scooter. It's actually a good one. The fact is that time and oxygen take their toll on ANY degradable object. My guess is that they used good fuel lines when manufacturing (which wasn't always done) and they held up better than ones used on cheaper scooters. I hadn't thought about the cooling system either.
The metal and electronics should be fine, unless they were stored improperly, like in a humid warehouse.
Glad to hear there hasn't been more of an issue with the rubber. Good to know.

I talked to a guy last night on the phone from Killer Motorsports. He said the frame is 2008 but the scooters are assembly in 2010 and 2011. He said if the scooters were sitting in ware house for 4 years, they would have serious rust issues. Meaning the radiator and carbs be very rusty. I told him a guy on scooter forum said need to replace all the rubber on the scooter if bought from you guys. He then was shocked. Never heard of that before, since only the METAL FRAME is from 2008 while the scooter its self was assemble in 2010 and 2011. So after talking to them last night on phone, i am going to order scooter from them soon as they open up this morning.

And is suppose to get up to 80 to 85 MPH, but figure since i am 6ft and 265 lbs. I should hit 75 MPH.. weeeee! Cant wait until they open so i can call them up to order it. hehe

Well, as I'm a RESELLER of THOSE exact scooters, I can tell you that they were MANUFACTURED in 2008. Unless Killer is assembling them in house, they are either lying or misinformed. Not a single 250cc scooter from China since 2008 has been cleared by the EPA for U.S. import. Period.
We're an authorized dealer for Peace Sports and Roketa.
Good luck with your new scooter purchase!

I don't reply to threads about other Retailers very often but, I feel the need to in this case. First off read their BBB report www.bbb.org/fort-worth/business-reviews/motorcycles-dealers/killer-motorsports-in-fort-worth-tx-164741954/There are other threads about Killer here and on other sites. Warranty Information www.killermotorsports.com/terms_privacy.aspI find this section very interesting: " The 3 Month manufacture warranty (and extended optional warrantys) is provided by the manufacture, NOT Killer Motorsports and starts from the date the product is received. Killer Motorsports will handle all warranty claims between the manufacture and the customer. Killer Motorsports is NOT responsible for any damages or defects and customer agrees to follow all manufacture procedures and policies for filing a claim to warranty a product. " Being an Ice Bear and Roketa Dealer I know for a fact that the warranty is 6 months parts (Ice Bear warranties their motors for 12 months)and both companies require the Dealer to handle warranty claims with their customers, neither company deals directly with a consumer except under very rare instances, for example company A goes out of business. An informed buyer is a happy buyer. Good luck on your purchase. Jim

I don't think the BBB is a good way to try to come to a decision about any retailer, IMO they are a joke. Send them their money or dues and you can have just about any rating you want. Also they rate people that they don't have a clue about, www.bbb.org/milwaukee/business-reviews/auto-repair-and-service/rapid-repair-in-milltown-wi-20000355/See sir you don't even belong to the BBB yet they give you a rating and by all of the people's comments on this forum it is a very well deserved rating but again look at the BBB? I have a friend that has bought from killermotorsports and had a very good experience and yes had two warranty claims all handled promptly and with courtesy. Also some of these websites are generated by the website designers and a lot of times don't reflect the true people or company on either side of the spectrum. Since you said what the warranty is on Icebear and you are a very well known, respected authority on them I'm sure it's the same there, maybe they need to update their site?

Greg I think Hulk made a good point, it doesn't seem fair to say they are lying or misinformed unless you have talked to them yourself. From what I've heard they are just a few minutes from the main warehouse on these scooters and may have deals that others don't? They have been selling scooters for a long time.

Sharing my experience with Killermotorsports thus far:
From the sale to delivery has been a pretty smooth process. I'm in Florida. The product shipped quickly and reached me in just a few days. I also received my MCO/Title very fast after I submitted the request online. My calls have been answered or voice mails have been returned very quickly too. On the service side, they've been extremely helpful.
As to the product, that's another story. I understand that there is some initial maintenance that an owner should expect to undertake when you purchase online. I researched that beforehand. With that, I would expect that post PDI, things would be ok and I would be up and running. That's not the case. I still can't keep the scooter running as it should. It stalls and then fails to start after running for just a mile or two. Support made a few recommendations, but I think I need to draw that line when it comes to cleaning a carb or adjusting the valves on a new product. So I'm going to bite the bullet and take it locally to have the rest of the servicing done to make sure I have a reliable product to get me around town. It's an additional cost that I have to incur, but it's what I need to do at this point.
My recommendation would be that if you're local to them, then yes, they are a great company and you'll get a product that will service you well. If you're not local, you run the risk of having to invest additional time and/or money to make sure your product runs as it should. In the latter case, you may just want to pay the additional cost up front and buy locally since after you spend the extra cost, you'll come out to about the same anyways.

I got my wife's IceBear PST250-1 Road Warrior from Killer and while I'm very glad I'm mechanically inclined and I'm still wishing I'd gotten it from RapidJim, but I can't say anything bad about them either. 2 weeks to deliver trike, MCO is in the mail, and while I have had one issue (missing bushing sleeves on the right rear suspension) which I had fixed by a local shop, when I called Killer's service department they said to send an email with pics of what is wrong and parts would be shipped out and to me within a week. All in all, I have had a decent experience with them. If I was to recommend a place to buy from I would say RapidJim because he has been a bigger help to me than the place I bought from and though Killer said the PDI was done by IceBear, I can tell you that it was not ...or it was done by a blind man who used PlaySkool tools LOL

After purchase my 2012 300cc Ice bear SuperSport scooter from Killer Motor Sports back in Jan 2012. I am very please how they treated me so far. They have top notch website and friendly professional staff. I love the parts request and warranty form you fill out on their website. And they also have live chat with tech or sales person on their website. If i would have known about this forum before I bought my scoooter. I would have bought a scooter from Rapid Repair Icebear too.

I can see that maybe they are getting better. I bought a 150cc from Killer Motorsports in 2008. 7 months later and at 700 miles, I was riding, and lost all power. My scooter came with a 1 year warranty, I live in the DFW Metroplex. Scooter woudl start but not get over 30 mph..No problem, I have an advertised 1 year warranty. I also inquired on the scooter warranty before purchase, and they guaranteed....any problem, call us, bring it in and we will take care of it. Well their guarantee was like the warranty...non existant. When I finally got in touch with Tech support, they said adjust the valves, and that should fix the problem. No problem, motor problem, guarantee of 1 year motor warranty, I will bring it in and let you warranty repair it....WRONG...oh that is not covered by the warranty. Like I said Warranty was just about as good as the Guarantee. I pulled the plug, and cover to adjust the valves, BROKEN VALVE SPRING....so I phoned back...guess what after over 30 messages, I never received a call....again broken intake valve spring = motor part = 1 year Warranty = Guarantee of the 1 year warranty.
Needless to say...I had a local Metric Mechanic find the spring and replace it at a cost of 250. Not bad, but their warranty...and Lifetime Tech Support = the same....NON EXISTENT!!!
Glad some have done ok, but I have no use for Liars and Cheats, and that is what I got.

Bought my girlfriend a 2007 (still in crate) JCL MP 250 A from Killermotorsports about 6 months ago. To bad she likes it because it's been nothing but trouble. #1. All the gauges are reading about a quarter way up while scooter sits doing nothing and cold and gauges never trustworthy at any time. #2. The ignition fades in and out and scooter will just quit while going down the highway. Juggle the ignition just right and she "may" start back up quick. Or she may not # 3. After only 700 miles, yes another 700 mile problem the starter clutch (not drive clutch) went out and wouldn't start the motor anymore. Anyway, I called Killer on all accounts and could tell they were going to continue to blow purple smoke up my butt instead of really doing anything for me. I refused to let them drag me around playing the bullsh!t warrenty game. Luckily I'm machanically inclined and have been fighting motorcycles most of my life. I got the tools out and solved all problems with scooter with great effort and aggrevation. Dodging getting wrong parts from clowns in the scooter business to adjusting valves that came from the factory with Zero clearance (WTF). I think I've had enough with Killer motorsports to last this guy a lifetime. Thanks, But no thanks.

Last year I paid $949.00 for a new 150 Scoot from Killer, but it was a shop in FL. After 2 weeks of no word from them, I contacted them and he said my Scoot was out of stock and sent a simular model. Except, he didnt. He told me that for 6 weeks. I got 4 different stories from him, that was nothing but BS. 2 months after the payment was made, Paypal got my money back, and I bought one from a guy in town.
I would not recommend using them at all. I have also heard of this problem happening with them before..
