I recently sold my money hungry Vespa and I got a super cute Honda Metropolitan with the Pink and White Hibiscus pattern I'm looking for ways to derestrict and upgrade my top end to go about 50 and also looking for accessories like a rear rack and a couple of ways to increase storage.

Congrats. on your new scooter. Money hungry Vespa? Please explain. Plenty of people here smarter that me. I can only offer suggestions that may not apply to your scoot. I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase. I'm sure someone with Metro knowledge will chime in. Have fun and ride safe.

There are good vendors for scooter parts at the top of this page. Metros can be restricted by a washer in the variator, easy to remove. Some have a thin plate on the intake manifold that makes it smaller. You can remove that paired with a larger jet in the carb. Those will not give you 50mph but a few mph. You need to start reading about BBK, big bore kits. Right now you could order an improved variator and slider weights. You will feel better throttle response, bit of power and a couple mph.

I am very pro-Honda products. Having said that, 50 mph on a Metro with just a few mods is not very realistic. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will cost you a lot money and time to get it tuned in to that level of performance.
And picture yourself making an emergency stop from 50 mph with a braking system designed to perform at a 30 mph level. For your safety's sake, please do not attempt those speeds on tires that are less than new - and built for those speeds.
I'm all for hot-rodding, but please go about it safely. Braking capacity is most often overlooked when upgrading engines. While a Honda is the brand most likely to be over-engineered, they too have their limits.
If it takes a little longer to go from point A to point B, then you have more time to enjoy the ride.
Enjoy the ride!
