I am not sure about the guy with the brake. Doing a slow 90, it is more or less the same as any. I have an old Honda Elite 250, and it is if anything, a little too short and twitchy. I have been riding it for years, and I still have a wide-eye moment now and then. The other is a Honda Silver Wing, which handles great and is very stable, but just maneuvering around like paddling back out of a parking space or something, it is really heavy on my fake foots, and if it gets a bit off vertical, it gets hard to handle, but it is the ultimate freeway bike. The trike, around town, is my new favorite, because I can lock it upright and maneuver it, and the weight and wheelbase are good. To me, it turns well - it has a different feel, but it seems to track well, and I am very comfortable with it. The sweepers are easy. I am waiting for a reverse trike kit for the Silver Wing; I don't want to ride a "normal" trike, so I don't want to put a Voyager kit on it or anything, but I would love to be able to lock it upright to maneuver it around...

Hey Sarge707, I have a working DF150tka reverse trike. Many problems getting it on the road, including the suspect fuel issues you elude to here. I could be of great help to you, if you want to trade phone numbers. Also, you are slightly mistaken all of these DO NOT come through Sunny Motors, fortunately, or I never would have purchased one. I purchased mine from: www.minibikesplus.comA totally honest businessman of the "old school philosophy", and his trikes come from IceBear. The importer is Pacific Rim Int. Let's arrange a phone number swap, and save a bunch of typing. Tim

Sarge, Heytim is a talker not a typist. (71 years old) I was not trying to pick you up. :-) I have about ten pages of problems with my DF150tKA Trike. I am not about to put them all out here, at one time. Missing parts because of improper packing preparation is just the start. Lack of support in this country are another. Design change information not supplied to the dealers. Constitutes fraud! Still a fun toy, but not for the light of heart, because it's a bit "squirley" handling, once you finally get it on the road.
But as for your problem, try checking the direction that the fuel pump is installed, mine was backwards. Avoid plastic fuel lines unless you want to be replacing them every year or two when exposed to the sun. Enjoy !

My DF150TKA was from the container that arrived in Ca. on the 30th of June. I measured my Trike's front end, and it is 41 inches from outside fender to outside fender. Many other changes have occurred, either without documentation, or letting the dealers and importers know. Fenders are now different, exhaust and muffler are different, windscreen is now amber colored, front wheels and are changed (nine spoke), four lug nuts instead of Allen bolts, the inclusion of a trunk and elimination of the extra rear pad for passenger, not to mention the rail / bracket for mounting the trunk. (which definitely changes the appearance). I am not sure whether this is good or bad, I guess it's a matter of taste. My biggest problems were the missing parts from the upper left control arm, which I was able to fabricate at a friend's house using his lathe and then purchased nuts, bolts and washers from Home Depot. This allowed me, to get it on the ground 2 weeks before the replacement parts arrived from IceBear. To then discover the fuel pump issue mentioned in a previous post. Mine was installed backward, therefore pumping nothing until I discovered the problem and switched the hoses. Did I mention that the fuel pump is located between the (2) access panels under the front seat, in the most difficult place to reach, I had to get underneath the scooter and reach up. No mean trick for a 71 year old guy with big hands. At least I have a dealer who is responsive, and is attempting to obtain a replacement fuel pump, which we suspect was damaged while being operated dry. He actually answers his phone and responds to email. ;D I am attempting to attach a picture to document all the changes that I have listed above. . . for all to Enjoy!! Tim Attachments:

Tim- I like the Red!!! I was aware of every change as I researched this thing big time before I bought. Actually the smaller front end is a handling PLUS I heard because the 52 inch we All thought we were getting was (According to Kelly at Scooterdepot) causing problems for many in the prior years model. I could return it because of the different specs BUT it would not be economically practical and except for a moderate wobble in the rear tire at 40 plus on the kickstand I,m satisfied with the quality for the $$$. I think I,m going to take the rear light bulbs to AutoZone to find the matching bulb ###.

Your Probably better off. My rear wheel wobble problem is my next project. I took it around the block with the centering lever on and it went from one side to another and was not confidence ispirational. Many times I am regetting buying this thing but If the rear tire is put on crooked or is out of round NO motorcycle is going to track well?

Not a good idea to change the fuse to a 20 amp. Seems to me the problem you have is a bare wire touching the frame as you ride it. This can be a long process in order to find it. The first place I would suspect is to check the small gauge wire at the battery and follow it backwards. If that does not yield a result, check the harness at any points where it can contact the frame.
Good Luck

RapidJim, Thanks for offering your response and advice. I took this into account but it can't touch frame intermittently when it's not moving, which was the case in last night's incident. You will notice in my post that I said "reluctantly", I really do understand the ramifications of going to a larger fuse. Have you seen one of these scooters, and attempted to trace locations of things. It is very difficult, and especially without any documentation. I plugged in 15 amp and it blew immediately, installed 20 amp and no problem. Without moving the scooter or the wires. My suspicion is that the wiring is undersized. 18 gauge to run the dash, running lights, brake lights, and horn, lots of load for a very small wire. But obviously a direct short is still in the realm of possibility. If I fry the wire then at least I can trace it;s remains and replace with a larger one. :-) And really !! for God's sake this is a brand new scooter........ Tim

Okay, I have officially given up on the crappy tires that came on the trike. The rear was out of round out of the box, but usable under about 40 mph. Balance responded fairly well to Dyna-beads, but Friday one of the fronts started to have weird balance problems, and eventually started to wobble - it is separating, after less than 1500 miles! I checked it out carefully, and the sidewall on one side is softer than the other side - the thing is unevenly cured(!), and the tread is coming loose from the cord body on one side, almost all the way around! This must be a new safety-hazard record. WTF people? I have a set of Continental Zippy 1s coming, and the trike is grounded until then. I am tossed up with this thing - for the money, it is what I expected quality-wise, and the engine/drivetrain seems just fine. The non-factory goodies, however, are pure cost-cutting. One light bulb was dead out of the box, and one other has blown since, so light bulbs all around. The tires are crap. The rubber hoses were crap. The brake pads, while they work well, are squeaky and do a funny scraping sound. The oil, gear oil, and brake fluid are unidentifiable - they didn't even smell like the proper fluids, and I replaced them all before I even started it for the first time. So far, counting the coming tires, I have spent about $200 replacing crap supplier stuff. This is not an entry-level purchase. OTOH, the factory part itself - there were NO missing parts, no loose fasteners. The front alignment was dead-on out of the crate. All the electrics work. The speedo is about 15% off, but I will reevaluate that when I replace that crap rear tire, which may be contributing to it. Even with the replacements, I have spent about $2500, which right now is barely in my budget. I would have much preferred the Piaggio MP3 250, but at $7400 OTD, it was not to be, so I can live with it. The trike is underpowered, which I expected from 150cc and its size and weight, but it is a good in-town thing on relatively flat ground. Unfortunately, in central Alabama we are in the Appalachian foothills, and outside of towns, it gets hilly. Won't be any hiway riding around here. All in all, I have been a bit frustrated by the supplier quality, but for the money, what I expected. I'll take it.

heytim; Back in the day, I had an old Fiat that would pop the fuse for the headlights occasionally. I only found it by spending far too much time following wires around, and there was a connector with six wires in it - two of the metal barrels were apparently not put into the bakelite connector correctly, and had half backed out when the connector was plugged in, and they would randomly touch every now and then. Could be something like that; follow the things around and check EVERYTHING, especially conectors.

I,m with you on All of the above? I still can,t get an answer on the rear tire replacement. Sooo many parts were substiuted you need a calculator to add them up?? The Kenda K413 nrear tire is nice a fat (Stable) but I,m still trying to figure how to take the other (OUT OF ROUND) original OFF!!!! Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a standard tire tool thing I imagine. To get the rear wheel off, it looks like the muffler and the bracket holding the brake caliper will have to come off. I haven't tried it yet, just looked at it. There is no shop manual for it; the tech guy at the importer tells me they are working on translating one from Chinese/Engrish. No matter when the tires get here, it may be a few days before it gets done - non-A/C workspace, and the highs for the next three days look like 99, 99, and 101, so it may be the weekend getting done...

When you do the back tire under the cap with 3 8mm bolts is a 10mm hex opening and a 10mm hex socket will undu it then there is the usual stuff. Just did it now.

received my 2 new trikes today from motobuys assembled the front end and went to hook battery up to pop seat to take out other parts. there's no battery there or wires to hook up battery under foot rest just a empty spot where it all should be. the seat is electric release. called tech support and they told me it should be under the footrest also. just wondering if anyone else has a new one and how to solve the problem. both scooters were like this Okay tech support just called me back and told me the battery is now under the seat and that the seat lock is not electric but will still not open when the key is turned to the open position

My fuel pump was hooked up backwards. That is what it is. It is probably an adjustment thing with the contacts that control the beeper and light. I saw someone say they are located down by the lock for the tilt thing, and are just leaf contacts. Bend 'em till they are right! I had a similar thing on my riding mower; has a "dead man switch" on the seat, to shut the engine down if the driver falls off. It was so close that just stepping on the clutch pedal would shift my weight slightly, and the engine would quit. Needle nose pliers.

Thanks for the infro. I have spend a lot of time on this bike and I am getting a little frustrated. It started with the fuel switch installed backwards which messed up the carb and so on and on. I guess I will be spending more time laying on my back fixing this bike. If only I spent as much time laying on my back having sex I might not be so miserable. Thanks again and sure glad I found this forum as it is full of useful information. I hope everyone good luck with the reverse trike and be safe.
