this photos of the cylinder kit, is from your old setup? thanks yes they are the original engine parts. they have 2000 chinometers on them. other than the carbon on the piston they are serviceable

What causes carbon on the piston? An over rich/lean condition or something else? Is carbon build-up inevitable and something that just has to be cleaned every so often or is it something that should not happen at all?

Living is south florida I was concerned about cylinder and head temp. so I was intentionally running the engine on the rich side to keep temps cooler. even so I was amazed at the amount of build up.

I've got a 63mm cylinder kit on my GY6. Does anybody have any info on how much I should shim the cylinder up to use one of these stroker cranks?

remember 2 MM means the piston only travels 1mm closer to the head. the standard starter has a difficult time getting past the compression

I was just wondering if it came in a kit with a cylinder/piston, was the cylinder longer than stock? In effect taller from the deck of the engine cases. Hence a stock length cylinder might need to be shimmed.

The cylinder is like the normal 59mm kit.. , no bigger outer dimentions than stock.

Well since mine is cammed already and the valves are pretty close I'll start with a 1mm spacer. I have access to peelable aluminum shimstock in .001 in layers. So its just like making a gasket, then loosening the engine up enough to peel a layer till I get the compression right. Maybe I should start at 2mm.
