I know I know.. this is an old thread. But thought I'd comment in the event anyone else is interested (these threads come up in google searches, and when you google this helmet, this is one of the top results..) So, I've owned this helmet for 4 years now. My first helmet.. and the one I use the most! For the price it's pretty good. It's a good looking helmet. It also fits my noggin well. Note though that if you remove the padded ear protectors it does make the helmet feel a tad loose. So if you're trying it on, decide if you're going to use those or not and get it fit that way (with our without the pads.) If you don't it's no big deal, that's just what I recommend. The shell seems to be of some plastic material - I can't comment on the quality of it as I'm not sure what makes it good or bad. The strap is high quality and holds very well. My only gripe with this helmet is the visor. If it's not down all the way there is a lot of wind noise. If it IS down all the way, it does well with wind but the visor is about 1" too long and will come over your nose as you ride... annoying. It's also not perfectly centered.. so your nose isn't perfectly in the 'arch.' I've tried a few of these on and some are better than others (the nose-centering issue,) so I think it's just a deviation from helmet to helmet. It's a fairly small gripe though - I like the helmet a lot. Oh yes, one last 'gripe' - it's somewhat hard to find accessories for it (like a shaded visor.) If I had to do it all over again, I'd have no issue purchasing this helmet a 2nd time. I use this helmet on the nice summer days, and have a Bell Apex full-face for longer rides (safer) or on cooler days.
