Hey Brooster! A fellow Yooper! If you're familiar with L'Anse you know what I mean when I say I live in a rural area with not many options around for buying a scooter. We don't have dealers on every street corner or anything. Online is pretty much our option, even if we had lots of money to play with. And I'm not planning on going on 41, only to go to Citgo or Holiday to buy gas. Yeah, love the clutchless idea!

You may be rural but what a Great area for crusing around on a Scoot!!! All things seem new on 2 wheels! I spent a couple weeks at the campground between you and Baraga. Keep praying for warmer weather. Welcome to Scootdawg.

Absolutely brooster. I love it here. It will make for nice relaxed rides just for the sport of it, which is what I'm looking for. Yup, Baraga State Park, very pretty place. It's sunny but cold here. I'm hoping for better warmer weather soon!

Wonderful back-and-forth info in this post and I appreciate it. I am not as far along as scooter virgin, in terms of making my choice, so I really liked checking out the links. Looking at a 50cc versus 150cc, will both handle the weight they claim? Scooter Virgin - looking forward to hearing what you choose.

50cc's arent too bad depending on what you get I live in Va with a ton of hills and my stock scoot will take hills at 25 and im on the base of the mountains I have a 50 and a 150 also and the 150 does feel alot safer on busier roads because of the ability to speed up and take hills alot faster but cant beat the 50cc not needing tags insurance or anything here in Va Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Va. 50 CC rules change July 1, 2011. Rule 1. A moped/scooter can not be ridden on any road that has a speed limit in excess of 35 MPH. 2. We can not ride them on any road or portion of road divided by a median. Best one is if the speedometer is marked in excess of 30 mph, it can not be ridden in Va. as a scooter/moped. Since I got the heads up on this stuff last month because I have always taken my C.O. to the state and got a title I decided to get a jump on it. Insured it, registered it got tags for it. Now here is the next fly in the ointment. Since current inspection laws do not cover Motorcycles with the H.P. rating that our Moped/scooters have inspectors will not inspect them right now because the inspection may be illegal since Va has not covered these little bikes and the intrepritation by the inspector has to be backed up by the State Police officer that is responsible for the stations in the area. I have now been put off by two inspectors. My replacement 150 will arrive this Friday, or Next Monday, Once I have the C.O. I will transfer the 50's tags and be legal. LOL to further fix my wagon the county sheriff lives two miles away and for some strange reason I see him almost every day in a cruiser or his truck.

Hi Liz, cool looking scoot, have you ridden one with a windscreen yet? Now that I have one I wouldn't be without it. Attachments:

I recently purchased a 2009 Kymco People 150, the green/white one and I love it! I took my motorcycle safety course with it (Louisiana). There were 9 total in the class, 3 were women but no one else even owned a motorcycle! One of the guys was taking it prior to purchasing a Can-Am, the one that has 2 wheels in the front. Anyway I love my scooter.

Hey Liz, THANK YOU for the web link - the price for "your" scooter is what I'm looking for. I like that it comes assembled, too. Have to see what my paycheck for teaching summer school looks like, and I just might be ready to roll.
