Usually the MCO comes seperate from the trike itself. IB mails the MCO to the dealer and then the dealer mails it to you. Hopefully, the dealer already has the MCO.

They "claim" it comes with the trike under the seat. Everyone I talked to who ordered from them it was that same way or either in their trunk. We'll see I suppose either way I'm excited

YES IT CAME!!!!! Just in time for the DMV to be closed lol ((Found one open tomorrow though so So far so great!!!! The fedex guy was GREAT he couldn't get his truck into my apartment complex, so he parked at the front, and hauled it by hand to my apartment about 500feet away. Then stayed and helped me get the trike up and running! Was very above and beyond! I didn't get to finish checking her over good, the rain started pouring before I could even go around the parking lot complex lol HOWEVER I did get to move her from one side of my car to the other haha Everything seems to be great. 12 bus. days to get her to me from start to finish! All the paper work was under the seat ready to take to the DMV tomorrow. The only issue it seems when they did the PDI the latch that holds the gas lock got broke, and theirs a few small scratches where the trunk goes, no big deal. As far as running goes, I don't know, got her up to like .5 mph hahah I plan on riding tomorrow when I get my tag (have to drive over an 1hr to do so but it's worth it to have her ready for a Sunday ride) I'll post more pics when I get them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I forgot to mention my FAV part of the day lol  when it started lightning I got nervous while locking my new disc break lock onto the front disc break, and well I put it on backwards #-o SO I had to use a dremmel tool to cut the plastic off my key so it would fit inside the tire rim, then use a wrench to turn the key THANK GOD that worked lol This is pretty much how the trike came off the truck, minus pulling the plastic off and taking it off the pallet jack. Very impressed with the PDI so far, gonna look it over good tomorrow and finish putting the windshield and everything on.

Yup it's the 2010 I have one very silly question now, how do I get the windshield on?? It'll fit down into the area it's "supposed" to go, but I can't find where to screw it into, it came with some clamps and screws, but unless I'm missing something, what do I do lol Help Oh and they sent me the wrong trunk holder, it'll fit fine on my trike, but won't attach to the trunk, must drill new holes or call them to send me another one.

On the front cover there are 3 slits, on the top slit there are 2 screws take those out. Then at the very top FACEING the Driver there are two screws one on each side take those out. Now you can take the front cover off. Be carefull snapping the cover off it has plastics pieces that go into slots on the sides to hold it down.
Then put the windshield on it has three holes on each side align the holes with the holes on the cover holder and put a washer on top then the screw. Then just put the cover back on and the 4 screws. Alleyoop

Great! Thanks!! I'll go out and see about doing that now! Just got back from about a 40 mile trip, did great!!!!! With 2 people it got up to about 50mph for a short time, then I let off, a few times I had to speed up to keep with the flow of traffic, but I mainly stayed on 35mph roads for a bit to see what it would do. So now to tackle the windshield

Thanks guys!! Today has been a blast! I got the windshield installed, and all the other bells and whistles Went for almost a 40 mile ride!!! The bear is doing GREAT Checked it out good after getting back from the dmv (thank god weather.com was wrong!!!) we had an AMAZING day here. Looked over the trike very well, then took her out for a spin. She'll do about 50 with 2 people on, not pushing her yet, so I"m guessing by myself she'll go about 55ish once broken in. And that's before the upgrades I have planed To start with I want bigger tires. What I don't like so far: 1. back tires leave a lot to be desired and will be getting better ones ASAP 2. under seat storage is a joke, I think maybe even a loaf of bread would be to much lol No I got 2 rain coats and a fattened backpack under their and had to smoosh it to close. 3. I do wish for some more MPH but I knew the limits when I ordered the 150 4. the manual is a piece of crap 5. the main MPH speed is in KPH but it does have MPH in light blue underneath but it's hard to see in the day light. What I love 1. $7.98 to fill up (has almost a 4 gal gas tank) beats $45 any day for my suv!!!! 2. I can ride with a passenger and I'd never know they were on 3. It's amazing quality, I'm very impressed so far. Very good plastics everything seems very sturdy. 4. nice seat, it's really nice! & when I ride with someone their higher then me so we don't feel to smooshed. 5. Lot of power for a 150 very good get up and go, esp. since it's not broke in yet. 6. LOVE that it has a kick starter 7. Great muffler 8. Has a option of turning the headlights off if your just letting it warm up so you don't waste battery power 9. has foot pegs for the passenger all in all I'm really impressed with the ice bear and with superiorpowersports.com, their communication left a little to be desired but the product is A ok and that's the most important part. I contacted them a few times over the course of the month to see the status and thought they should have been the one contacting me, but other then that, I would buy from them again. =D> I did buy a truck box today from walmart, that I'm going to attempt to put on the back tomorrow I needed a little more storage room for shopping and this was bigger, and waterproof without being so big that it can't go on the back. I'll post pics when I"m done!! Here is some updated shots: the box is very close to this, but doesn't have the metal latches and it's a bit smaller it'll hang over the allotted trunk by about the size of a 1 1/2 DVD cases on each side. But it's enough room to hold 2 helmets or 1 helmet and my backpack for school.

wingcommander, The Gas tank is even better than that it holds 18liters, thats 4.7 gallons close to 5 gallons. The speedometer you will find is very accurate and the speedo is hard to see in the bright sunlight but at night they light up very nice. You will like the access hatch to get to the top of the engine under the seat, makes it very easy to adjust things. Good luck and ride safe. Alleyoop

Alley, I wanted to take it out last night, but after riding all day my back was a little sore from sitting so long so I figured I'd better not But I'd rather have a slight sore back then hurting so bad I can't hardly walk after a 10min ride so I'll call it amazing The point to that is I didn't get to see it at night lol But I plan on doing it tonight lol When I took my car to walmart last night to get my truck box, I felt I was hurting the trikes feelings lol You know I forgot I added a gallon of gas to the scooter when it was delivered so I could get it to the gas station lol, that's why I thought it was less hehe So your right EVEN better!! And for the seat I take it that's why it's a little less room so you can get to everything? That's great then! Going to look into bigger tires this week shanghaid: I know my old 150 was the same way, I can already tell this is going to rock not having to go to the gas station but maybe 1 - 2 times a month I'm going now to see if the box is a good fit, then going for a spin

Hey guys I have a question, how hard would it be to wire in trailer lights? I want to use permanent female mount for future trailers? I finally heard back from the head of my apartment complex and they said I could have a trailer as long as it didn't go out into the road when parked. Would a trailer be better then putting a mount on the back for my mobility scooter? Any advice would be great

Post by als01seville on Sept 27, 2010 23:07:37 GMT -5
Yes, a small trailer would be better, otherwise there would be to much weight to far to the rear and away from the Axle. Also when not carrying anything you can just unhook it. To wire it so that you could plug in trailer lights would not be hard. Alleyoop

Thanks that's what I thought, that it would be better I mean, but when I was told I couldn't have a trailer I started looking for other means, and wrote the head of our complex and explained the situation and why I needed a small trailer and that's when they said I could have a small one as long as it didn't go any longer then my parking space, which shouldn't be an issue!! I'm just happy they actually listened instead of sticking with the initial no I was told!!!

Well since you have a parking space, a small trailer would fit with the two wheels up against the stop and your trike front wheel alongside the Hitch arm of the trailer. Plenty of room for both. Alleyoop

Thanks everyone! Wish I could say happy riding, but I'm having major issues with back firing, & dying at stops. Alley is trying to help me trouble shoot, but it's been a little rough. I'm going out now to see if I can do some more, I have to take a little at a time, I took it to a local mechanic but I found out yesterday this was the first tirke he's worked on, but the motors the same so :sigh: still in bad shape My daddy always said "without bad luck we wouldn't have any" Oh and just got off the phone with the place I bought it, and the muffler (if it is a leak or something) is not covered by warranty, and they ::cough cough:: said the "air / fuel screw has NOTHING to do with backfiring"

Yea, the mechanics will make any excuse the only difference between a regular scooter and a trike are the two wheels in the back. Actually the trike was actually made out of a two wheel scooter(HAHA). And like I said there are only a couple of things that will cause bakfireing and that is Running Lean as heck (which could be the Lean Setting on the Air/Fuel Mixture that they do to pass emissions and or Air Leak which causes a Lean condition as well). Also Loose Header Flange or the Gasket was blown out or partly out. Alleyoop

Thanks everyone! Oh and just got off the phone with the place I bought it, and the muffler (if it is a leak or something) is not covered by warranty, and they ::cough cough:: said the "air / fuel screw has NOTHING to do with backfiring" Well they are wrong about the muffler not being covered, here is an ex cert from IB warranty This warranty on your Ice Bear Trike, which is distributed and warranted by Pacific Rim Int’l West Inc., remains in effect for six months from the date the end user purchases from the dealer. This warranty applies to all trike (3 wheel scooter) models. What does this warranty cover? Except as specified below this warranty covers all defects in material for this product during the six month warranty period. The engine is covered during one year warranty period What does this warranty not cover? The following are not covered by the warranty--damage, deterioration, or malfunction resulting from: A) Accident, act of nature, abuse, misuse, neglect, transit, unauthorized product repair, modification or failure to follow instructions supplied with this product B) repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by Pacific Rim Int’l West Labor cost is not covered. The following parts are not covered under warranty: 1.Tire 2.Rim 3.Plastic Body parts 4.Suspension I do not see the word muffler in the not covered area. Also, I have had these items warrantied that are listed as not warrantied, I guess it is all in how you approach IB. Also, another thing to check is to ensure that the plug wire is attached firmly to the plug. We have had a few scooters with this problem, making contact, then no contact, then contact again causing a back fire. Like in the day when we would be driving down the road and turn the ignition off momentarily and then back on, "BOOOOOOOOM" through the exhaust. I always thought it was funny until I blew a muffler apart on my Dad's car. Since Alley has been helping you I am sure he mentioned valve adjustment. Good Luck to You Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Jim Dang, forgot to mention to check the Valve clearances but I did not mention it because the problem she was having was backfireing and not dying at stop signs. I could of missed that in the PMs back and forth. But dying at stops signs after the engine gets nice and hot Tight Valves would be a suspect. She had mentioned that the valves were ticking and I told her that is ok as long as they are not Clattering so Adjusting the Valves never entered into mind.
The mechanic said that the vacuum hoses were connected wrong and supposedly fixed that. But wingcommander says that there are two hoses coming from the valve cover and if she plugs one up it looses power and will only do 50mph. If she connects it to whatever(I asked to see where it connects to) that it gets the power back but causes the backfireing.
I asked wingcommander get pictures of the hoses coming from the valve cover and were they are connected to as well as the hoses connected to the "T". Alleyoop Alleyoop

Thanks Alley & Jim, Yeah I've had issues with it dying as well at lights / stop signs. Also now had developed a annoying like squeaking /chirping sound from the back end when I come to a stop to. the mechanic put grease on the chain, and it's sounded like that ever since. I traced the lines that I thought were attached to the valve cover, and 1 is attached to the piece the carb is attached to & I don't know where the other is attached to. I'm not sure what their doing, cept I can feel the one I'm holding if the metal piece is out pulling air in, and the other hose that's laying down in the pic. pushing air out. and like Alley said I'll loose speed if that piece is upluged and it'll idle like crazy from 1500 - 3000 rpms but when it's hooked the way the mechanic hooked it up, it'll crank ok, and idle great but have a loss of speed. I drilled out the air / fuel screw today, but after about 1hr of pretty hard riding it died again at a light, I stopped for a few mins at the college and did a few more adjusts on the carb, and it still died on the way home. it dies when I come to a stop and start to go again it'll idle fine, then when I give it gas sputter sputter die. then every once in a blue moon it'll sputter and I'll be able to coax the gas to get it to go. I'll check the valves tomorrow, I really can't afford another trip to the shop Thanks Jim for finding that out for me about the muffler. At least if it falls apart I know its covered

Replace the fuel pump with a Mikuni fuel pump. The IB fuel pump is junk just like their air filter, transmission, differential, muffler and technical support. I don't sellk IB products anymore as I want to have a reputation for selling only quality products.
If a compamy has no technical manual for their products you better run--they are only in business for the short run---grab the fools money and run.

Hi Alleyoop: I guess you missed my postings back in late July....I had ridden pretty much every day for 3 weeks...aggravated an injury I had surgery for in January. I should have waited a year after surgery to even CONSIDER riding. But when you are out of pain, you tend to forget about it........so I have had to hang up my riding gear for the year....darn it. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to ride again but am not making any rash decisions. I'll wait until next spring and re-visit the idea of riding again. I think we'll have to make some seat modifications at that point. I really should at LEAST start her up, I suppose...it's been disappointing to say the least. Marcia Hi Marciag, Its been a while since we heard from you, how is it going? Any troubles with the Trike and if so what are they. You must be a PRO by now riding that thing:) Alleyoop
