I have a scooter I got for free from a guy moving back to the mainland. He couldn't figure out what was wrong, why it wouldn't start. and his mechanic told him it would be about $4oo to fix it. I put some water in the battery, charged them, changed the plug, and found a crack in the fuel filter, and it runs like a champ... mostly. I have a hesitation in the throttle about 1/2 way up. It is a 4 stroke Chinese jobbie, Brand name Excalibur, with a XY139QMA motor. On the center stand, it hesitates about 1.5 seconds, then powers past it quite impressively. but when it is down and I'm driving it, it can't seem to get past the hesitation, which stalls me at about 30 mph or so by the speedo. I tend to think it is in the carb, maybe in the A/F mix. I am going to pop the brass cap off tomorrow and see if I can adjust it better... as well as check the valve gaps while I am playing around...Is there something obvious I am overlooking? This is my first scooter... Also I am taxing the sh!te out of it, I'm 6'1 and 280 lbs., but I see bigger guys passing me on 50cc 4 strokes all day...
