You'll probably get in 35 - 40 mph range dependent on wind and terrain. I wouldn't go modifying too much till you find out what may void your warranty.
Sorry to hear about all the restrictions in your state. We have all that crazy BS here also. Almost makes it impossible to get tags and license and be 100% within the law.

....I have noticed a slight stumble around 25 mph. It was real bad when it was new. Got better after 500 miles American. I've gone through the whole 9 yards with the carb., valve adj. etc. I'll take any help I can get and give it a try when I do my pre-season maintenance work in late Feb. or early March. I may need to re-jet, but you always hear horror stories about that too. Time will tell. How about yours. Gary S. Hey Pugzila, In your reply #409 you asked me about mods to my Peg. I never heard back from you. What's the story with yours? Do you ever notice any stumbling around 25 mph? Gary S.

I definitely had stumbling in the 25mph range early on, though it is mostly gone at this point. I just took it in for a general check up and oil change. And on the way back from the dealer I noticed that the engine is not revving as high on full throttle, and it has lost speed on the top end. I'm not so sure that I like the change, while I don't run it at full throttle much, I like having that little extra pick up on the top end if needed. Suggestions?

Luighseach,
Do you know what they might have done in the "general check up"? What year is yours?

I know that they changed the engine and gear oil. And also tightened bolts and such. Other than that I'm not sure. They did ride it a bit, maybe eight miles or so more on the odometer. So I guess they did some sort of tune up as well... Its an 08.

Luighseach, I'd check with the dealer who did the service, but first you could try checking the throttle cable for the proper free play. That way you'd be fairly sure that at WOT the carb's throttle plate is also wide open. I think it can be checked at the access opening in the storage area. I'll check mine tomorrow and try to take some pics.

Well, I was starting to get a bit annoyed. The Pegasus wasn't running as well as before the "check up," it wasn't as fast, and it sounded different. Everything with the throttle seemed ok. So I decided to go ahead and change the oil, even though it was done just a couple days ago. I'm not sure what kind of oil they had put in, but it seemed as though it was overfilled slightly. So I put in some more of the Kawasaki 10w-40 that I had in before the dealer changed the oil, and after a couple miles of riding, it is back to normal! Sounds better, acceleration is better, top speed is better. I can't imagine all of that being caused by the oil, but, everything is back now, so it must have been...

Glad to hear it.
I guess these little engines trying to move a total weight of 500 lbs.+ ; any little thing can make a difference. You may think about changing the gear oil too.

Thats probably a good call on the gear oil. What type do you use in your Peg?

Thanks! I'll have to run and get some of that tomorrow.
Its great to have the scooter running well again, it's so aggravating to ride when you know that it is not performing as well as it should be.

The E-Charm and E-Jewel by CF as well as the Torino (Diamo's unit Rebadged) and the Pegasus (Qlinks) Should all hit upper 60s in Carb form. I love thes bike and have got to be the best performing 150 there is.

On a long enough stretch, I can get to about 65 mph with a regular carb. That's just fine because everywhere I travel the max speed is 50 and that's rare. Most times 30 to 40.

Just crossed 1400 miles, 3 months 6 days. On my ride in this morning as I was passing th electronic temp guages on banks and such, who all seem to agree it was 36 degrees out this morning. I had a question pop into my head. If I am going to continue to ride in the cold weather, do I need to do anything, such as change anything, for the colder riding? It lives in the garage at home and during the day in a parking garage.

Went around a hard turn yesterday and scraped the center stand. I now know how far I can take it on turns ;D Though the day for a bigger bike may be coming... I've only had the Peg for a month!

I took off the top trunk the other day to see how it was mounted, and it looks like the dealer just drilled two holes in the rack to mount it on. Anyone else have this? Just kind of sloppy work considering the rack already has holes in it to mount stuff on... Oh and I also just realized that I am supposed to have a parking brake. I'll be giving the dealer a call tomorrow. So far pretty unhappy with their service... Won't be going back except for warranty stuff (if I can't go anywhere else).

Parking brake should be a yellow lever in the storage area under the seat, left side. I took mine off a long time ago. Never used it. Just something to break. MHO.

They are really nice people, I'm just not too satisfied with the work that they have done. For example when they did the oil change they overfilled it (and put in a less than satisfactory oil). On another note, Qlink is pretty much saying that not using high octance gasoline can void the warranty: www.qlinkmotorblog.com/qlink_motor_blog/2009/10/high-octane-fuel-makes-engine-last-longer-and-perform-better.html

To those of us who have that little stumble around 30 mph, has anybody tried a slightly larger main jet? I think the jet is a 107. I'm thinking of a 110 just to see what happens. I was hoping someone may have some insight. I'm going to call Tim at carolinafunmachines.com/default.aspx who is a forum member. I've bought parts from before. He's not a Qlink dealer, but he does ship me generic parts I need. I think the jet threading into the carb body is pretty well standard. Hopefully he has some jets in stock and can send them regular mail. Again, If anyone has tried this or may have some other ideas, please let me know. Gary S.

Again, If anyone has tried this or may have some other ideas, please let me know. Gary S. "Lean Bog" usually occurs around 1/4 throttle. In the transition from idle jet to main jet. Raising the main jet needle a notch..or placing a small washer under the main jet needle frequently clears the problem. An improperly seated, torn or otherwise not functioning properly carb diaphragm will also cause the problem.

Thank You Harry,
I'll give that a try either before the end of this season or early next year. I'll try it with the original jet first. I only try one fix at a time.
