Nothing exceptional but CFMOTO /Qlink will be releasing the latter part of 08 a 300cc (290 approx) V3/V5 automatic MC. Minor cosmetic changes to the fairings so you can see that the bike is suppose to be different. Larger Heads are being used, (the upgrade for the 250cc has been around for a long time), so nothing new in this department. HP will be slightly increased, and I suspect they will probably go with a flow through exhaust and improved air intake. Might get another 10 mph brining the V3 up to 83 flat, and the V5 to 75 flat. Otherwise the cfmoto / qlink Sapero/legacy continue to run, like that energizer bunny thing. They just keep going and going with minimal if any problems.

Jacine; I think that is a good move for those bikes. Wonder if we will see this engine showing up in the Chinese maxi scooters, replacing the 250cc size?

Keep the info coming. Someday you are going to have to reveal who you really are. I'd just like to know if your avatar picture is really you. Or are you actually some middle aged fat bald guy. Not that there's anything wrong with being a middle aged fat bald guy. I am a middle aged fat bald guy. Although, calling myself fat, is somewhat generous :-) But jokes aside, I look forward to the info you bring to the forum. Keep it coming. Thanks Bear

Ok Jacine, your pic is really messin with my ability to get the forum to fit on my computer screen. I have to use the bottom windown slider to ride all the posts... and I hate stuff like work. ( - ; And even though this is a scooter forum for the free exchange of ideas and knowledge... nice pic just the same.
So CF is going to use the 300cc heads from the old Helix performance parts era? We tracked down info on a 300cc kit for the Honda some time ago... but were unable to secure any actual kits because they were offered for the Helix way back when - and nobody seemed to have any. I wonder is this CF product would be based on that older product... or if its a completely new design.
I'm going to Indy so I'll have to strip one of the CF / QLinks while no one is watching and see what lurks behind the panels. I believe that You're right though about the power... but if it's just a change to the cylinder on up without any changes to the 'transmission', then I can't see the bikes having higher top speeds - unless theres a change in top rpms. Hmmm... now I want to ride one to find out. ( - ;
BTW, do you have any info on the new QLink Splendor 400? Other than knowing it might be available by spring - and what little is on QLink's website - and Schwinn plans to sell the same thing - I don't have any real info on it. Guess I'll take it apart at the Indy show as well...
Maybe I should just buy a Harley and call it good... ( - ;
Later, Jim J... Bandit MotorSports

Qlink Splendor is being aligned against the Suzuki Burgman although it is a theoretical 7cc less 393cc liquid-cooled four-stroke Front Brake Disc Rear Brake Disc (Some talk about abs but will not be real computerized abs. Most likely aftermarket pressure bleeder) Compression Ratio 11.2:1 ( 91 octane gas) Tires F: 120/70-16, R: 140/60-16 (larger tires seems open to debate currently. There are suggestions that the tire size has been reduced to front 14" and rear 13" same as Burgman for some other distributors) Color choices Burgundy, Black, Gun Metal, Navy Blue Black or Red Fuel Tank 3.6 Gallons Rev limiter at 8000 rpms. wt 432 lbs (same wt as a 650V*) seat height 30" Carbuetor is Kinzo. (some promotions are selling it as efi) Price 4695. However it is not a full EFI (something like 4 point vacuum carburetor adapted rather than 16+point computerized) as far as I know but will have and EFM (black "snitch" box). The psuedo EFI apparently adjusts vacuum rather than O2 mod readings and rpms etc.

Jacine,
I would hazard a guess that you are some sort of engineer, maybe mechanical? Your posts are highly informative in nature, and even technical.
IMHO, no one here would think badly of you, or "identify you like that", if you posted nice pics(note: I did not say risque ones) of yourself here. You have, without a doubt, shown that you are much more than just a pretty face. That you have a pretty face is just lagniappe.

Jacine.... I was so impressed with your drop dead beauty! Darling, you are an anatomical wonder! Oh BTW, I spoke with Hugh H. in Chicago as you had requested regarding the centerfold and the highest I could get him was $200,000 as opposed to the $250,000 you had asked. Let me know and I will advise him. Only thing that will bother the scooterists, if at all, he wants you posed adorning the top of a Harley Hog. Jonathan

But...but...at the bar the other night you told me you were impecunious and I had to buy all your drinks. Afterwards, I wondered with such striking beauty how you could truly be impecunious. After all, we have testimony that you are a hard worker, brilliant in bikes and scoots and that you belong to the high international high IQ group, MENSA. There should be a way to make some money, no? See you at Bench Warmers on Thursday. You are about one crazy girl. (kiss) Zip

Jacine....be that the case...."that is as far as you will go".... could you possibly upload a picture of yourself in the bikini when you did the Harley shoot. I mean, like girl, if you got it flaunt it. Remember, it ain't bragging when you are talking if you can actually do something! Think of this opportunity. You can make up to 2,079 members pant or whatever! Zip

Jacine, .....pseudo-EFI??? How well do you figger it will work??
Full EFI is great, especially starting/warming up a cold engine, but wow!! all the sensors to keep track of, and tuff to work on an EFI machine with just the usual tools.
On the other hand, CV carbs do a good job once the engine is warmed up, and a mechanical-only machine is easy to work on.
So, where is the pseudo-EFI going to fall?? Will it be carbureted, BUT now also tuff to work on?? Will it be almost EFI, BUT an average guy can work on it, too. That is, will it be the best of both worlds or the worst??

From what I can depict, the ECM will primarily monitor vaccum, rpms, eci, throttle position and operate an electronic choke. I think it will replace the thermo automatic chokes that exist now. It will still be a regular style carb, but the ECM will record for posterity any changes made on the bike. For example changing the air intake or exhaust output will change the vacuum out of oem specs and create a flag that could possibly be used by air testing machines. I would not think that it is flashable, that would probably cost too much to implement. Working on it will probably mean replacing it since it most likely will be a sealed unit. I am not sure how much leeway we would actually have to modify performance in terms of jetting etc.

.....hmmmm. Sounds like a device to:
1/ Make more idiot-proof the starting and warming up of a CV carb machine. 2/ Tattle on the owner for emissions and warranty purposes.
So far, I dont think I'm impressed.

It seems a lot of ecms are going that way. Seems the state needs some way of determining if the bike was altered and since there are too many bikes and too many ways to mod them, a snitch box as they are being called, is the way to do it. Just plug the computer into the ecm port and get all types of info.
