For those who have a hard time with text posts on carb cleaning, I made this video, but it's too long for Google or Youtube (about 20 minutes). It goes into a little more detail. Click the picture if you have time to watch: There is a place there for comments as well as a download link if you want to save it to your computer. -Rich

Good tutorial... I know it took a while to put together, and although its for another site. I have to give credit where credit is due. We have butted heads in the past, but consider my +1 an act of good faith.
Opinons are like buttholes, everybody's got one. lol!

Good tutorial... I know it took a while to put together, and although its for another site. I have to give credit where credit is due. Actually it only took about a hour total, and that's only because I'm terrible at video editing! No, it was not for another site... it was for the members here! I had to upload it to another site because YouTube cut their video uploading to 10 minutes. If we did, I can't remember it! I have no opinion on that! ;D -Rich

Great tutorial, but I have a question. My carb doesn't have the screw holding down the floats. What do I do?

If you don't have a screw, the pin will push through from either side. You just use a really small screwdriver or a paper clip to push it out to the side.

Thanks. My buddy actually figured that out today. We cleaned out the carb and put everything back together (though we weren't able to get the diaphram out because it was held in place with a c-clip deep in the carb and we didn't have anything to get it out) but it still won't start with the kickstart. I'm about to put in a fresh battery and if that doesn't work, you'll see another thread on this bike lol.

Yes, because the bowl is not full with gas since you just cleaned it. You can either prime it with gas or cover the air intake with your hand to help it get primed by the pump.

Very cool of you to take the time to do this.
Your Video editing is fine. Does just what it should do. Tell the story and not get in the way.
