We've never owned a scooter before, and today we bought a Kiatong Velocity 150cc scooter for 775.00. I can find absolutely nothing online about the quality of these scooters or anyone that has every owned one. Its already having a problem of stalling in the middle of the road. Its a 2008 with 410 miles on in. The used car dealership we bought it from said they would fix it for free and if it still has problems we can get our money back....
Heres the question....is the particular scooter (make/model number mp150-70 worth investing in? or is it a chino pieco of crapo that will continue to be a lemon?
HAS ANYONE even heard of this brand?? I found the website but it doesn't give much info, just the updated products they're selling.
Throw me a bone over here =) THANKS

If they are willing to fix it for you have them check the valve gaps before trying anything else, it may be just a simple fix.

I have a 2008 Titan Velocity MP150-06 and it is a pretty darn dependable scooter. I'm going to be selling mine as I got a Tank 250cc (I needed more highway speed) I think if you own any brand of Chinese scooter you must be willing and able to do maintenance and repairs yourself of have deep pockets an take it to a bike shop. Repairs aren't all thet hard and this foum has many people who can advise you and give instructions.

Saw my first one last week. It was a Velocity 50 that a customer won in a sales contest. It was in the crate and the owner attempted to assemble it himself. Battery wasn't charged. Replaced defective starter motor. Spark plug was not attached inside rubber boot. Although, quality points for using NGK plug. Tires severely under inflated. Was able to access the NHTSA vin decoder. It should be legit in PA. On a scale of 1-10...I'd give it a 6 At $65 per hour labor rate... it's the kind of scooter we love!!! ;D ;D

It's not a lemon, it's an awesome scoot, dude.
You need a valve adjustment, and a new pair of 3/16 Y connectors in the vacumn and fuel lines. Buy a pair for $2 at the auto parts store and hand 'em to the mechanic.
Set the idle mixture after you do that, and she'll run just fine.
You can replace the furl lines and spark plug after she's running, and check all connections to the best of your ability.
Scoot it, you got a good deal on a good bike.

I'm checking out a Kaiting MP150, as well as a Roketa MC150, a Dong Fang 150, and a Tuohe 150. Which one of these brands would be most dependable? All have approx. 1000 miles.

Or...You could shell out for a much more dependable scooter like a Kymco, SYM or Genuine. If you want a new scooter that's priced right...then check out Bintelli scooters here: www.bintelli.com/productsI LOVE their Havoc 150cc scoot. Priced @ $1699.00 is a soild deal IMHO.
