I can start it when it's cold and it will run for a short time then it dies.If i give it the gas the rpms only go up to abut 4000 then it dies even with my hand on the gas.I did a search on this topic and see many dogs have had this same problem .I have done some trouble shooting any more ideas
1.replace the coil 2.switch out cdi 3.cleaned carb 4.checked wires running to stator 5.checked valves

I had a very similar problem, almost exact. It would idle, but any gas would make it stall. It ended up being a valve clearance problem. It was weird because I had just readjusted them less than 1000 miles ago. I had problems getting the right gaps, but it seemed the largest gap without it tapping worked the best. I went through the range of .002-.004 and adjusted maybe 3-4 times. Ideally, you want to adjust the gaps cold each time, but I didn't which is maybe why I also had to adjust my gaps a few times...
You can check the "how to" section of the forums on how to adjust the valves in case you haven't had experience with it.

i have charged and tested the battery and stared the scooter and rev the motor with my volt tester on it running and the volts wont go over 12.81 before the scooter dies again, from what i have read this sounds like the stator.
