Well In all fairness to Vespa Riders and any other persons on a two wheels ... their hands may be otherwise occupied ( get your mind out of the gutter). Bear in mind that the hands are used for brakes, turn signals, lights, throttle and in some case gear changes. Some bikes ( Vespa GT 200 comes to mind) become very unstable if you remove your take your hands from the bars. As more two wheelers hit the rode the novelty of waving at ever passing cycle can get a little old.

I find the "King of the Snoots" is the guys who own those rice rockets. They are way to good to wave. The people who always wave are the Harley owners. It doesn't seem to matter if they are members of the Hell's Angles or some 70 year old out on his big cruiser they always seem to wave.

my first scoot was a UM 150 Matrix. It was so unstable I was afraid to take my hand off the bar to wave. I now still have the habit of not waving because of that. sometimes I lift my finger but no one ever sees it. I'm sure by now that everyone who has passed me and waved thinks I am a big ass snob.
Not true. I now can blink the bright lights and do so instead of waving.

I'll be honest I might give a nod some times, but I'm a little self conscientious when it comes to social interactions, so I usually just pass people by. I think I remember when people waved, but I was born in the 80's so I'm not sure if I was too late. Now it's 'When in Rome.'

The Vespa owners that I have encountered have been very friendly, and curious about my Eurojet. They are impressed with the price of the Chinese scoots. They are very familiar with the Burgie.

Frigging Aprilia owners ..... they think they are so great ... what a bunch of snobs! (Kidding Julio) that's a gorgeous machine. I would answer you back but I don't talk to Vespa/Chinese scooter owners, only to Aprilia scooter riders..... I feel so alone
