Well, I am taking the advice of several on this board and going with a a B&M for my first scoot purchase. I decided upon a BMS EVO 150cc (Lance Milan/Fly La Vie); www.superiorpowersports.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BMS150SC-V9%20EVOThe price is too good to pass up and they claim to run a full PDI for an additional $99. Has anyone had any interaction with these guys. They are located in the City of Industry, CA. I plan on going by to see them this weekend or next. I just want to make sure I put a order in soon so I can be riding by July.

Blue, The prices are good, but do not include free shipping like most of the internet sellers do.. I would be very suprised if they give you internet price, or even let you purchase it in person.. I hope I am wrong, but don't get your hopes up to soon... If they fail you should check out gsmotorworks.com/ since they have the same bike w/free shipping... Good luck and happy scooting whatever you get... Dave

Spoke to an Emily on the phone today. She was very nice. She told me that for me to pick it up in person would be a $50 handling fee as well as the state sales tax. My biggest reason for going here is the cost and the fact that they do onsite work and pdi for a good cost. After tax and pdi and paperwork(no additional charge), I am looking at around $1400 for the scoot. She also said it would take a week for a scoot and pdi to be completed once purchased and that it would take around a week or two to get the scoot in if they didn't have the color (they did though). The other concern I had was if I choose to buy (looking around middle of July) and the price goes up, they will honor their previous price of whichever scoot I look to get. So far so good .

Blue,
That all sounds very positive.. Superior sounds like a very good company, makes me wish I had a dealer/shipper like that up here... Hurry and get the ball rolling, your missing your best riding weather..
Happy scooting soon.. Dave

I really question the "completeness" of a pdi for $99. I'd want a list upfront of exactly what they're going to do. Having just done my own pdi on a drop shipped scoot, I don't envision a dealer going to the detail that is necessary for only $99. Maybe I'm wrong... but get that list of services ... what they're going to check, what they're going to do with all the loose wires dangling around, the over tightened and stripped bolts, the various anomalies of assembly with no quality control, etc etc. The local BM store that I visited charges $65/hr for service. That's less than an hour and a half. I spent a total of over 10 hours over several days. OK.. I'm not a mechanic and it was all new to me, but I'm pretty handy with a wrench and screwdriver and have lots of time-saving power tools. Even on a good day and having gone through this before, I'd just be getting started at an hour and a half. Good luck.

Assembly and PDI usually take us about 2 to 2 1/2 hours per bike, if we were to charge for this it would be $100.00, $50 and hour posted shop rate. Of course we have been doing this for awhile so we know what to do and in what order.

Well...Is Superior a purebred or a mutt? Was the PDI thorough - new/better battery - oil changed - wires and bolts tightened - everything else they advertise? Current ads indicate no shipping costs and some models have free assembly, PDI. Bottom line - is this a get what you pay for outfit, or are they legit?

I just ordered a scoot from them a zen-king. there customer service people are idiots. i ordered their so called pdi. the bike did come with a yuasa battery and an autolite plug. oil was changed. the rear didnt have any oil in it. tires were low on air and carb was not adjusted. other than that bike was ok. when they shipped it it came assembled. they strapped it on a pallet with plastic straps and it rubbed the paint in a couple of spots. other than that the bike is great.

They updated their delivery options and placed the $50 price on their checkout process. They also seemed to have recently added the $99 Full PDI to alot of the scoots.
Yes, I still haven't pulled the trigger only because of a recent surgery and the inability to ride a scoot since I'm one-armed until mid-late August.
I still can't find a cheaper BMS EVO 9 anywhere, I just haven't had a chance to go down to their store to check out the B&M location.

I bought some parts for my xingyue from them...i ordered parts from the BMS pathfinder, which are an exact match... As much as I would like to down this company, i must admit they did as i requested. the parts arrived in one week exactly, from friday to friday. Their parts dept rep, named Curtis, was thorough in his duties. the phone operator, Rachel, was as helpful as she could be. The customer service rep should spend more time LISTENINGt to the customer, instead of attempting to use her feeble intellect to think for the customer, a move which almost cost that company a sale. Overall, i would recommend them as a dealer.

I just want to make sure I put a order in soon so I can be riding by July. Scooter: SSR Motorsports Znen Rowdy 150 ZN150T-24 Bought: (purchased over the phone) Company: Killermotorsports.com Purchase Experience: So far, 8... Price: $1827 total ($1567 bike, $260 shipping to AK) Pros of Scoot: Initially impressed with the quality (I didn't expect a Vespa, but I paid over 2/3 less). Liked the look; the bike seems solid, advertised gas mileage Cons of Scoot: nothing to report yet (still registering, etc) Pros of Method: Read pros and cons and took a chance...looked at Vespas and the local prices were ridiculous and the dealer was not impressive. Shipping to Alaska was very reasonable for a 300+ lb item! Cons of Method: obviously buying something sight unseen with no local dealer support Link: www.killermotorsports.com/aboutus.aspNotes: Talked and emailed with Mike Smith @ Killermotorsports for a week or two before buying. Delivery was pretty much on time, no damage. A little issue with MCO, but Mike taking care of it. No complaints so far. When you read all the horror stories, anything resembling good customer service seems amazing. At this point, I would recommend Killermotorsports in Ft Worth TX. You guys have decent prices ( www.superiorpowersports.com/150cc_scooter_sale_s/36.htm )! Anyway, for those of you who have purchased a scooter from superiorpowersports. You can find Custom Chrome Body Parts and accessories at www.scooterchromeparts.com for the following scooters which superiorpowersports.com sell (or any other scooter company online); VC 150cc Scooter type 06E (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) RK 150cc Scooterr Type 74 (they have most chrome body parts , and original body kit they call hayabusa body kit for this scooter) VC 150cc Scooter type 06K (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) SL 150cc Scooter type 12 (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) VC 150cc Scooter type 06D similar to type 74 (they have most chrome body parts , and original body kit they call hayabusa body kit for this scooter) VC 150cc Scooter type 06B similar to type RK150cc/type 23 (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) BMS 150cc Heritage & NC 150cc Scooter type VT (they have all original Bello body parts for this scooter which is the same) NC 150cc Scooter type F4 ( they have the Chrome Front Fender & Chrome Rear Fender & Accessories) RK 150cc Scooter type 04 (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) RK 150cc Scooter Type 75 (they have all chrome body parts for this scooter) www.scooterchromeparts.com I can't stop talking about this website; they just have so many chrome body parts that we can use for our scooters. This is not a new company they have been around for a while. There have been a number of body parts I have purchased already. The website has many other chrome body parts available for different Chinese scooters such as the 50cc (BaccioVX Series) 125cc, and many 150cc (and a Tank 150cc which I have upgraded to a 180cc) body styles. But I also noticed that they too have some chrome body parts (such as the Chrome Front Fender & Chrome Rear Fneder) that will fit most 250cc Chinese scooters. You can see some of the scooters some of there customers have put together scooterchromeparts.com/#/scooter-gallery/4536619892 I think the website is awesome and very informative stuff. You can even find Manuals & Diagrams for free (but you need to become a VIP Member (it's FREE to Join). Well, I hope I was able to help someone who is looking to dress up there scooter a bit. This is definitely the website to check out! Do me a favor? Pass it on to other scooter riders looking to dres up there scooter. They guarantee you will get notice. Ain't that the truth! Attachments:

I am new to the scooter world. I bought my 150CC lance vintage type from here. I am a middle aged female who has never rode before. This company did a great job. Living in California I can only buy from two dealers that I found on the INTERNET. Locals wanted twice as much for this same bike. The phone person was very helpful with all my questions. Even sent me to another site(Lance) to look at the colors too. I received emails all along telling me my credit cards was OKed, bike was shipped and info on shipping company. I wanted a windshield on my scooter. They worked with me to add the windshield from any other scooter. Cost $85 for windshield. I was also offered a type of helmet or a cover for 1/2 price. The helmet was not my type so I asked for the cover. under $20 for the cover. The bike was shipped to me for $165 to my front door. I needed to add gas, do a quick check on oils ect and add windshield myself. I had not found this site when I got the scooter so I did not do a complete PDI at that time. The scooter was here the day promised in perfect shape. I love my scooter. I was very happy with this company. I ordered the same bike yesterday for my husband. Customer service was great. This time we got the cover for free. I asked because I ordered my bike a few months ago if I could get a discount. So I got the cover ($40) for free. Today I got an email saying my first color choice was not available to ship. I would get my second choice. This is fine with me. Shipping will be maybe one day later than my first email stated. I will let everyone know how it goes. I will do a full PDI on this bike when it is received late next week or the following week. I am very happy with my scooter. Cost of bike $919+$85+$165+$97.89 tax =$1266.89 for a scooter. local wanted base price of $1895. We have a dealer in town who does work on these scooters. I hope to learn to do all the work myself. I'll keep ya posted. WMM

I ordered the Lance Vintage 150 CC on Feb.1st. it was shipped on Feb.5th just as they told me. I got it late last night from the local trucking company. 10 days from start to finish date. The scooter was packed great & looks great. The front brake is not working so I called the company. I am to mail the brake back to them and they have another one ready to ship out to me as soon as they receive mine. No hassle. We tried to trouble shoot it over the phone but figure it is better to send the whole brake unit and they will send the whole unit back. Yes this is a bummer. I would love to ride the scooter now but... The MCO is in the mail to me. I can not go to the DMV yet, still working on insurance for the scooter and the husband does not even have a permit yet. He has two more weeks before he can get into the DMV to take the test. We are not really ready to ride it so fixing the brake keeps the unregistered and unlicensed off the rode. I have been very happy with this company. I would buy again from them. I'll post back about the brake when it is completed. WMM

Scootit, there is nothing wrong with your front brake, I just answered your other post with instructions. You can't depend on these sellers to troubleshoot anything, most of them have never even seen a scooter in real life.

I just wanted to update that I corrected the brake trouble with the help of this web site. I just want to thank everyone that gave me advice. Lesson learned- always come here first with scooter issues. I am very happy with my scooter from this company. I would buy again if needed. Thanks everyone, WMM

I just wanted to update that I received my bill of sale yesterday with the MCO. 7 days after I received the scooter. Last time the paper work was with the scooter. Having it right away was easier but I feel it was ok to wait. I am off to the DMV on Monday to finish the process. I have everything ready to make it easy to walk out with my license plate. I was very happy with this company. Yes it took longer to become legal to ride on the streets than if I bought it from the local store. I saved myself around $825. I will buy from them again. WMM

Sometimes the brakes are not bed properly before they leave the factory and it needs to be done as part of the PDI. Harbor freight has a brake bleeding system you can order that costs about $15 or so (can't remember exactly) and that should take care of the problem.

I was in and out at the DMV yesterday. I had everything I needed when I got there. The DMV rep could not find the engine number- sure glad I knew where it was! He also wanted to charge me again for California sales taxes! Again I had proof that it was paid once. I don't think he liked a smart female telling him was incorrect. Thanks everyone-It feels great to know what I was doing before I entered the DMV. I am street legal-ready to ride- Now if only the sun would come out. Life is great! Thanks, WMM

I recently became interested in purchasing a scooter now that spring is just around the corner. I called Superior Powersports to place my order for the 150cc vintage scooter. I tried to get the best deal, just like the one you got, but was not able to get the same price because I was a new customer. I was able to get a good deal, paying a little more than you, but I am so excited about receiving my scooter within the following week. Superior Powersports has a very helpful customer service team, especially with me, being that I have never owned a scooter before. I have already received my payment confirmation with my invoice and I should be receiving my tracking information soon.

I am glad to hear your getting the vintage bike like mine. What color are you getting? You should be paying about the same price as I did. The scooter is showing as $919, the windshield is $85. The cover the first time I got at 1/2 off, around $19 I believe it was. Your shipping could be more and tax should be the same. Let us know more about your scooter. You should have it this week!!! Congrats, WMM

HI, I just finished a very pleasant deal with SuperiorPowersports.com. They were awesome!! not only did they price match the scooter from another website (other site got bad reviews but cheap scooters) but they fully assembled my scooter and delivered it to my door ready to ride!!! In addition, my trunk compartment was not included in my delivery but they got it out to me within a day or two. Sandy and Dave at superiorpowersports.com helped me tremendously!!! Thanks guys.

I ordered my VC 150cc 06B from here on Saturday, April 24th. I talked with Dave and he said it should ship out by Monday May 3rd. I do understand that the PDI service does eat up some time, and I really hope they do a decent job, although I will do my own very throughly before I take the initial ride.
He estimated it would arrive in Maryland (Where I live) in roughly 5 days, depending on the shipper. This puts it at arriving either on Friday, May, 7th or Monday, May 10th. So about 14-17 days from the initial ordering date. This does seem like a bit of a wait, but I did order on a Saturday, the free PDI takes more time, and California to Maryland is a LONG drive, so I guess I understand the long wait time. I just wish there was a local dealer with such prices!!
Alas, the cost savings are worth the wait. I'll be sure to return to report my delivery experience, my PDI, and my review on the scoot/store. So far, they have a great customer support department that has emailed me every step of the way and were very friendly on the phone. Thanks Dave!
