Glad that worked out for you. You really have been lucky with the way things turned out in this ring situation.
Have a bone for getting it straight, and cheap.

Thanks for the bone Vert. Yeah i got lucky. I NEED A PIPE !!! A friend of mine stopped by yesterday with his R4 clone. We were tinkering with our scoots, checking the differences in the too. I couldnt help but notice how much different the shape of his Leo Vince ZX pipe was over mine. The Leo header pipe was a two phase(or stage) and seemed to flow into the diffuser allot better than mine, the diffuser is longer, it tapers off slowly from the header, and is not near as big around as mine, it seemed to have almost no belly section, the diffuser looks like it goes right into the baffle witch is shorter also. After all of the looking and mental note taking i couldnt help but ask if i could bolt it up for a run. Of course he said yea lets try it out. First i took his pipe off and measured the ID of the header were it bolts to the cylinder and it was 23-24mm over my 21-22mm. So i bolted it up to my scoot and go for a ride.... ;D ;D ;D, I need one bad. My scoot probably gained at least one honest HP all the way around the tach. I couldnt believe the change in it. I went from pulling up a little to do a wheelie to almost wrecking because i did one by accident just trying to turn around . And the thing that got me was the ZX is known for its lack of low-end power. We put my pipe on his scoot, but that was pointless. It was like we tied a boat anker to it. I new i had a bad pipe, thats why i wasnt afraid to cut into it. I didnt think it was that weak though. This whole time i could have had more power, and all because, aaahhh never mind . Im glad we did that, now for a better pipe

Our 2 strokes are sensitive to proper pipes, the one 90GTvert gave me specs on works great!I built another before 90's and it might as well been a piece of water pipe hanging there! His is a MRP I think, but I see the same design marketed by other companies also.Ya gotta watch for those internal baffles and restrictors that seem to get spot welded inside for the tree hugger bunch though..Good luck on finding the right pipe!!

Yeah, yours is an MRP clone 190mech. There are definitely some no name pipes out there that look just like the MRP.

I got my buddies pipe Saturday ;D. I gave him cash and my old pipe in trade for his. He is into go-karts big time and he was hard up for cash so he could get a new clutch for his toy. So it kinda worked out well for us both, he still has a scooter to ride(slower) and can get a clutch for his go-kart, and i have the pipe i needed so desperately. I had to work allot this weekend so i didnt have much of a chance to ride with it until last night. Im very happy with it so far ;D. I can see what scoot-attack means when they say it isnt responsive on the low-end, but when it comes on its ON. Its like i go from a little bog from a dead stop to hang on im outta here gotta go lol. Heres a pic of it now, kinda dirty and rusty but by the time i get done with it, it should look allot better. I wish i would have thought to take a pic of the two pipes together .

This may sound silly to some of you but its in my blood i cant help it. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME, THIS WAS DONE BY COMPLETE TRAINED IDIOTS I got into a race with my first cager yesterday. I wouldnt have even thought about it if i didnt think the three guys in the Honda CRV were laughing at me on my little Skeedr. I was on my way back from campus when went by them, they were waiting on me to go by so they could pull out onto the road. Thats when i thought i caught some giggly pointy stairs( ya just know sometimes). As i came to a stop at a red light at the bottom of Chauncey Hill and US231 they pulled up right beside me, i looked over and sure enough im gettin laughed at by some 20 year old punks in a Honda SUV. I just smiled and chuckled myself as i looked at them.... Then it hit me, i looked around for cops and traffic, wasnt anybody behind or in front of us so i looked over at the driver and asked if he wanted to race? He laughed some more...I sat there with a dead serious look on my face waiting for his reply...They kinda slowly quit laughin and he answered yes. I said lets go to the speeedway gas station( a little over 1/8 mile) whoever gets there first wins. His passenger asked if we should take off when the other light turns yellow.?. I thought what a idiot, its bad enough we are street racing then this dude wants to leave early on a green light lol. I said lets take off when our light turns green, we gotta keep it legal lol, they thought that was funny too. So here we are, im all staged up waiting then the other lane gets the yellow, what the hell my heart is starting to pound and im on a scooter lol (a race is a race). We get the green and boom full throttle im gone, i heard his tires chirp a little as he took off. I peeked over my shoulder as i crossed the other side of the intersection and i had him by more than a car length. By then i could here his little 4 banger shrieking the winds away at 6,000+rpm through first going into second (ha, i aint gotta do that buddy), i still had a good lead but he was maintaining his position. As he wound second out and was going for third gear i looked over again and he was almost to my back tire...He planted third gear as we finished, then he passed me. As far as who won, well i had him at the gas station entrance, but the race was technically to the station sign and i think he had me by there, it was very close. It ended up being a good race without any traffic in the way. We stopped side by side at the next light, i told him thanks that was fun. They all said yea that was fun as they were all staring away at my $500 china scooter .

I forgot to mention my belt came in from Autotech. My scoot likes it for sure. My old belt was tight on the pulleys at a stop, and was even about 4mm in on the clutch pulley. That meant to me that i was loosing some low gear and top gear. After i put the new belt on and went for a ride i found this to be true. It is allot smoother through the whole "shift", and i have dropped a few rpm up top. The fastest i have went with the new belt so far is 58 at 10,000rpm. It doesnt seem to be working as hard but that could be because of the new pipe also. This belt is supposed to be 8mm longer than the one i had. Autotech sells em as 90cc jog belts.

Thanks for the review of the autotech belt. I might have to try that one out myself since the 798mm Kevlar belts fell through. EDIT : Nevermind. His auction says the 797 is actaully 788 like I already have.
Good job on the race. Have you started looking up 1/8 mile ET's of popular cars yet to see what you can keep up with? lol I think 12 second eighth mile ET's would have you looking for cars that run 18-20 seconds in the quarter mile. That pretty much means station wagons, SUVs, old man cars, and things like that. We'd need to start dropping into 10 and 11 second 1/8 mile times to get good races with a lot of cars.
Do the brace!

LOL, old man cars...My grandpa had some pretty fast old man cars, a couple with hemis in em . I havent timed it with this pipe yet but i agree on the faster ET,s. The frame brace is going to happen . I think its a good investment in time, probably make wheelies allot more stable. Just riding period has got to be better with the frame brace.

Had sum fun this weekend. I also found out that drum brakes fade, then quit on scooters pretty quick. I new this was true but i didnt think 4 laps would get em that hot. We had some fun though for sure. It would be cool to road race scoots around here like they do over seas. Heres a few laps of me on Skeedr

Got bored today and decided to make a boost bottle out of a 2.6 oz protein shot i got at wal mart.

Well this is what i ended up with yesterday and let me tell ya they work. I ended up matching the bottle and plumbing volume with the size of my motor, 70cc,s. I used model clay to fill my bottle to spec. I used water to make sure it was accurate. The first one pictured made a slight difference, but the theory stands correct that if you match you bottle plumbing and all to the motor size you will see great improvement in throttle response and acceleration, i also got allot better idle out of mine. I didnt see any improvement on top end but i wasnt expecting any. I would recommend a boost bottle to anyone with a two cycle. Heck im building one for my weed whacker right now! j/k, its a thought though. Here is about the perfect size bottle for a 50cc, little big but not much. 2fl. oz

Please excuse the interruption - this is a really interesting thread, but I'm totally in the dark - can somebody kindly tell me what a Bottle Boost is, what it does, and what it gets you? Just trying to fill in my 2T knowledge (which is still mostly blanks...)
Thankee kindly.

Stunting in a T-shirt without a helmet is just plain stupid. "bout what people expect from a 50 rider. By riding a 60 mph scooter without tags, you will eventually get busted, lessening the time when those of us who ride un-tagged 50's responsibly, will be able to so. Find a club, scooter or mini and race on a track, but judging by your cornering technique, you will be getting waxed for a while.
BTW, the seizure was a "lean seizure". Pumped 2 stk.s go though a wild swing of air/fuel requirements though the rev. range.

I have been running rich lately and dont have a jet smaller than the 80main i was using. Anybody else had to rejet from the weather change? I ordered a few mains the other day but couldnt really wait for them to come in the mail, i needed my scoot that day and it was so rich with temp increase, pressure change, and humidity i had to do something. Long story short an old jet that i over drilled + JB weld works wonders when your in a pinch . I had to take a few test runs and take it out a few times to drill a little more out of it because i started lean and worked my way up until i reached a good tune with it (only 2 plugs worth I ended up with around a 72 when i was done. Update on the motor since the caster oil seize- Still running great with good compression . I have been using redline oil since. I put about 400 miles on it then pulled the cylinder. The piston and rings looked as good as they did when i put it back together. The rings looked clean and not sticky at all. Im never putting caster oil in my scoot again, getting the rings unstuck was no fun .

You don't have to wait for it to set up. It only takes a few minutes to fill and redrill a jet. I've never had any problems with this method.

The solder should be a bit cheaper thanthe JB weld too, at least it would be if you always mix too much like me.

After i jbeed it(and yes i mixed way to much) guess what i found Another thing with JB weld is that it seems to "swell". Im not sure if its caused by the gas or what but i pulled the jet out and ran the bit through it after it sat over night because it ran lean the next day.

Hmmm. I definitely think I'll skip the JB Weld. I'd always be wondering if it was leaning out a little after hearing that.
