after i took my cvt cover off a few times my kickstart came off. i tried to reinstall it but i dont' think i did it right...
i tried to look at pics from the variator install and such to see if i could put it back on right.
i know i have the kickstart on right, but the gear next to it, i don't think i have it on right.
is there any schematics that i can look at or any advice on where i could go to see if i could get it back into place?
the gear next to the kick start - well, the gear is a little behind the main wheel behind the variator. does it does supposed to be lined up exactly with it? or what?
thanks, allen.

Different years of the same make/model of bikes have different marks....different makes and models also have different marks.
one thing remains the same, the idler gear stop.
Detailed photos and instructions on how to reinstall all kick-start components will be posted soon. If you need help PM ME and I will talk you through it because it can be a little confusing the first time around.
NEXT: how to remove the CVT cover the RIGHT WAY so thats its easier and faster to remove in the future.

Is there a way to improve the kick starter like reposition the kicker for more travel? If i try to position it up further it hits the side of the case.

Question: I rebuilt my engine and in the process got the kickstart jacked up. As i was using this to fix, my case on that side is full of alot of black grease/oil. is this normal or is something else wrong? Attachments:

In the cvt there should just be road dust and a little grime from the belt but not grease and oil.

well as you can see from the pic i do have that. Im gonna clean it out with carb cleaner and see if it returns or if the prob was corrected with the rebuild. Thanks for the quick answer!

You can start it up with the cvt cover off and watch to see if any oil is seeping in, chances are there's a bad seal.

Crank seal is leaking or you have a cracked case...there are a number of threads on replacing these. The good news... on the variator side you don't have to split the case to replace the seal...just remove the kick starter gear and it is pick and poke.

I have followed the directions as closely as possibly however, when I kick, the kick starter after reinstalling the cover it still slips. The idle gear does not seem to be engaging? It seems that the idle gear is sitting too low and is not raising up enough when the main gear turns. Is the idle gear supposed to rest on the back of the casing or is there supposed to be a spacer behind it? Any help is certainly appreciated! Thank you!

WOW!! I have never seen a CVT worse than that one, the kickstart problem is the least of your problems. Wile

This was exactly what I was looking for. When I opened my CVT for the first time I didn't know I had to remove the kick start lever and it pulled the gears apart before I had a chance to see how they were installed correctly. Thanks a million!
