Congrats, and sounds like you are making all the right decisions. Take it easy till you complete the MSF, and focus on learning the control positions and feel.
Ohh don't warm the bike up on its side stand. These CVT transmissions don't really have a neutral and it will walk right off the stand, don't ask how I know.
Cheers.

I see from the rear view photo that you have the 244cc Honda clone engine. You can confirm this by looking to see if the cylinder is upright and slightly tilted to the rear. If it's horozontal it's the Linhai-Yamaha motor. But judging by the drive cover it's the Honda. From what I've heard valve adjustments are easy with this unit. Search through the 250 threads to see how it's done.

Hi
I am hoping to do business with Killer Motorsports soon, but I have not had good luck wth communication. Here is an email I sent and the responce.
Hi
My name is Scott and I am VERY interested in purchasing a scooter from you. However, this is my third attempt at emailing you and so far I have had no response. Hopefully third time is charm.
I am interested in the Roketa 250cc Cruiser in Red. I was wondering if this is the 250A or 250B model? The B has the Linhai motor and while I would prefer that, if it is the A model I will still be interested. I would just like to know.
I was also wondering what PDI, if any, is done there and what would be left for me to do? Again, just so I know.
I will be making my purchase early next week and I really like what I have read about your company. But to be honest, if I can't get a response before the sale....the chances are not good for after.
Hope to hear from you soon!
RESPONSE FROM CHANCE:
I believe all we have stock is the a model which has the china motor in it the 249cc. why you say pdi what is it you are talking about? Inspection before shipping?
**************************************************** Ok...this is not inspiring confidence, can anyway reassure me please?

This is why kliff and I always say the phone is your friend. KMS says their phone number is 817-284-4800. I would try calling them and see what they have to say. It's becoming pretty clear to me that e-mail is not an efficient way to communicate with busy scooter dealers these days.
Toll free number: 877-754-5537

I just bought two 150cc Wildfire scooters. One for me and one for the wife. I bought them locally because I didn't want to have to deal with shipping and assembling them and the multitude of other problems I have read about. I have been pretty happy with them for the month I've had them now.. However now I want something that goes a little faster top speed on them is 55 mph although I am getting over 80 mpg. I have been searching for a few days now on the internet to find a good dealer somewhat close to my PA location. I came across Killer Motorsports out of Texas who seems to have the best prices I've seen yet for a 250cc scooter including shipping. I'm also looking at the Roketa 250 Crusier. Does anyone else have any experience dealing with these guys and is this deal as good as it seems? Any info would be great.

Funny you ask!! I just got home today with my Roketa 250 Cruiser from Killer Motorsports!!! I have NOTHING bad to say about Chance or this dealer!! I love the bike so far. Here is my story. I did my research on the bike and found out what I could about Killer Motorsports. I read alot of good things about KM. I live in West Texas, about a five hour drive to Ft Worth. After all the problems I have read about people getting crap bikes online or not being able to assemble them for one reason or another, I decided I was going to go pick up the bike. I have a friend with a bike trailer and she agreed to take me if I sprung for gas. I have been in touch with Chance(the one you want to talk to) by email and then by phone for over a week. He is great at service and answering your questions. I told him I was going to come get the bike and would like him to assemble it for me. There was a $75 charge for assembly and PDI which I was fine with. I also had to pay 20% down to secure the purchase. I was a little Leary about that but it worked out fine. Since I live in Texas, they also took care of TT&L paperwork for me. So today I got up early and headed to Ft Worth, not sure what I would find when I got there; horror stories filled my head! I found the place, which was a little hard because they have just moved into a new building and there is no sign work yet! But I had talked to Chance and got great directions ahead of time. When I pulled up there was my bike sitting out front, shiny and new! She looked great! I went in, signed the paperwork, paid the remainder of my bill, and loaded up the bike, with their help! They also went through and showed me how everything on the bike worked and started her up. She ran great! I am very happy with the bike and with Killer Motorsports. I HIGHLY recommend them to you and anybody else! I am not a dealer nor do I work for KM. You can read the posts I made before picking up my bike and see I was really scared about the hole thing! I will post some pics when I get them, but the bike looks exactly like the red one in the pics on the site. I suggest you call Chance and he will hook you up!! 817-284-4800. Tell him that Scott that just bought the red cruiser on Monday sent you! If you have any questions for me, just let me know. P.S. Sorry if the writing of this is horrible, but I have been up and traveling all day and am pooped!

That's a JCL MP-250A not a Roketa Cruiser. That's a superior scoot. They come with the 257 Linhai motor. Good looking ride.

Already talked to Chance and at this point he wasn't sure if they had a red one just like Spike got and wasn't sure of the engine. Now this scooter is for sure a linhai just like my 250-B and every piece on it is identical. They sell this very same scooter now in a little new scooter dealer in Conway but at the price of $2900 cash, that's the B&M dealer mark up for ya! Will be getting with Chance again in the morning as they are advertizing a 250 scooter on Ebay for $1750 and don't know if it's this one or not and Chance wasn't sure either as we talked about it. The 250 thing is still confusing to some of the dealers and it can be as what engine type. In these pictures one can see the rear end on both sides and I can tell you it's a Linhai 257cc. Even the muffler is different between the two engines the other one being the 244cc C F Moto. What makes it even more confusing is dealers will call both engines a 250cc and even some will call the 257cc Linhai a 260cc engine. Linhai horizontal head, CF Moto vertical head, just another way to tell. I sure hope this ends up being the scooter that's on Ebay as Chance told me they just used some pictures on Ebay to show a 250 scooter and it wasn't actually the scooter for sale. If it is I'm headed to Euless Texas down by Fort Worth where they just moved to. He also told me that they were now located close to a Jonway warehouse if i understood him right and that could be real interesting as far as selections on the 250. Spikeisback that is one fine looking scooter man and real happy for ya and I'll tell you it'll ride like a dream and even ride better when you wear the OEM tires out and put some real good ones on!! Also if you need to carry extra items ya might just want to add some saddlebags like these; Again nice scooter!! JRR

So you say mine is a JCL MP-250A? With the 257cc Linhai engine? I thought all along it was the Roketa 250cc with the Honda clone. Is there a big difference? Thanks for the feedback guys!

Yes some difference as the 257cc is a little more peppier and yes it is the 250-A. It's all a matter of the lettering as they are called different names. I have the MC-54-250-B an 08 model that is an exact copy of this scooter even the color!! The other difference is the 257cc is the horizontal head engine and the Honda clone 244cc engine has the vertical head. I guess the one draw back to me on the Linhai versus the Honda i=s the valve adjustement that is generally required at around a 1000 miles or so. It's not hard on the Linhai it just takes time to get all of the junk out of the way!! LOL
The Honda engine as it is older has a better parts supply due simply to the fact it's been around a long time but the Linhai is catching up due to it's popularity. Also from what I've seen the valve adjustment is easier on the Honda clone.
But you will enjoy this scooter and engine, just follow all the instructions as changing the oil etc. I don't know how you had it set up and if Killer did the prep and PDI but make sure you get rid of the crappy chinese coolant if they did not. nasty stuff and put only a 50/50 mixture of coolant back in it with no silicates. I use prestone 50/50 with no silicates. JRR

Supposedly the JCL is made in a completely different factory than a Roketa and with stricter standards. You should have fewer headaches because of it. The MSRP is even much higher than an MC54 250B for it so depending on what you paid you might have gotten yourself quite a deal.

Eaxactly to the letter same motor in the Linahi, same radiator set up and fan, same brand OEM tires, same instrument panel, same lights, same panels, same trunk. They sell them in Conway Ar. at Hometown ATV for $2999, went and looked at them last Saturday and compared them apples to apples. As always if a dealer can afford to buy them in a very big bulk quanity it will help his MSRP. The little dealer in Conway has only been doing it in his second year and is doing well and looks like he is growing as scooters are getting popular in Central Arkansas. I'm sure KillerMotorsports is a lot bigger dealer and can do a better deal. It's only 2 hours before Killer opens the doors so I've got to stake some old tomatoes in the garden and then will give them another call, hope they have another red one like Spike got as it will match mine for mama!! JRR

Well so much for the tomato staking as the sun was shining but out of no where a thunderstorm has moved in, lightening and raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock! LOL Did get to pick a bunch of squash, cucumbers and about half of a 5 gallon bucket of ripe Early Girl tomatoes!! Just a little over an hour until Killer opens! JRR

"I'm in Grove City, PA... Thats where my restaurant is anyway.."
Two things-first Cookees is a CF Moto Dealer in Pittsburgh. You should look him up here and talk to him about scoots in general and 250s in particular.
Second-My wife went to Slippery Rock and said OMG! Grove City is only seven miles away from the college, we used to go there on Sunday for dinner sometimes.
