Hi Troops, Reading the Pro and Cons and Bad Dealers. I would suggest to ANYONE looking to buy from a Dealer to FIRST check out the Web for Complaints and Lawsuits against the Dealer or Dealers your looking to buy from. Just one I noticed MX Motorsports, they have changed their name so many times to get out of warranties and service that its a joke. As for the owners they still haven't found them and they have been looking for them for some time now.
There are many more with lawsuits against them, but here is the catch: Most people will drop lets just say $2,500.00 dollars on a scoot, so here you are, you didn't get it or a refund either or it arrived in pieces. You could bring them to small claims court which is very easy to do, but that will not get your money or scooter fixed. All the judge does is makes a judgement against him but its not inforced. Also you have to go to court in the state he does business. So you have to get there, rent a car, stay at a motel and pay for food as well as Court Cost which usually run $50 and up. So depending on where you two guys are you might have to spend MORE than the Scooter is worth. And thats what some of them are betting on that you won't do anything. The only other option is to Hire a Lawyer and let him do the traveling and speaking for you and that runs even more.
SO A WORD OF WARNING!! Please check out the web for Lawsuits Against whoever and you will get hits. Also check with the BBB a lot of them are RATED "F". Alleyoop

Scooter: TGB/Perispeed laser r9i Bought: Local Dealer Company: TwistnScoot Purchase Experience: I rate my experience at a 10 Price: $2799 Pros of Scoot: Nice and reliable, Gets good speeds Cons of Scoot: idles off after first start so I have to play with the throttle, it would choke and cut off in the rain(hasn't done it lately though) Pros of Method: I could see it, feel it, and test it Cons of Method: Cost more Link: Notes: I'm happy with my purchase even though I'd like something a bit faster. I've upgraded it to having a wind shield and a rear rack with a sh37 top case.

Pros of Method: This company e-mailed pro number and carrier contact info, shipped fast - box offered reasonable protection Cons of Method: 30 day warranty Notes: These people did everything they said they would on their website - I mean dang, the bike was $705.00 with free shipping. Sorry guys, we are two different scooter dudes that have purchased the same scoot with very good results for the money. I copied the prior post, as it was easier and basically the same feedback from me. No need to question the authenticity of these two purchases above. Two dudes, same scoot, mines silver/black......

Scooter: MP-250A Bought: Online Company: bandit-motorsports.com Purchase Experience: 9 Price: $1800 Pros of Scoot: Good speed and adequate power. Great fuel mileage. 55mph is very comfortable. Cons of Scoot: Vibration is really bad hitting the 65mph mark. Pros of Method: Price. Since the dealer is both online and B&M, he knows how to fix stuff and use the internet to research and solve problems. I didn't have to drive 100 miles to buy a scooter I didn't want. i.e.:Good selection. Cons of Method: The wait is unbearable - maybe 2 weeks to get it street legal. Notes: Jim was awesome. Great communication. Great knowhow. I totally trusted him, and it paid off. I don't think I would buy from anyone else after buying from bandit.

There was a thread about them last year. Jim at Rapid Repair sent back an engine with no compression, it miraculously came back with 175 psi. They said they looked at it and nothing was wrong. Wouldn't cover shipping or labor charges for removal since it was "perfect". That's why we recommend GSMotorworks, Green Earth Scooters and Valley Scooters (scootersus) for online purchases.

Scooter:Lance GSR 150 Bought:Local dealer Company:Renegade Classics Purchase:7/10 Price:$1199 Pros of Scoot:Cheap and a nice silver color. Cons of Scoot:Poorly made, electrical issues, breakdowns, Pros of Method:Cheap and easy Cons of Method:To far if you need to go back for warranty issues.Although they don't honor their obligation anyway. Link: Notes:Basically Renegade wont pay for any labor costs incurred under the warranty period. Lance Powersports will only tell you to take your problem back to the dealer where you purchased the scooter from and only supply certain parts to the dealer.A very bad and costly experience all round.

B&M stands for Brick and Mortar, meaning he actually has a Store Front and usually a back room where he fixes scoots not a SUITE with just a telephone to take orders

Scooter: JCL 150-E Bought: B & M Company: Brad's Scooters - www.bradsscooters.comPurchase Experience: 9 Price: $1600.00 Pros of Scoot: Runs good, looks good, Easy to manuever Cons of Scoot: Wires going into CDI jarred loose within a day. (Also, wife wrecked it within two days so I had to do some minor repairs after that on my own, but Brad was great at helping me along with it) Pros of Method: Brad - He is a decent, good, guy. He legitimately wants people to enjoy their purchases and will tell you upfront what to expect. Got a 90 day labor and 1 year parts warranty for 200 extra dollars, and even though I've done most of the work on it myself, it is a nice thing to know I've got the warranty. Cons of Method: None Notes: Brad has ordered me a few extra parts and given all kinds of advice for free. Highly suggest him to those in Missouri/Illinois, but he also does online sales at his website.

I just got a new adventure 150cc scooter you know the Chinese ones. Anyway its brand new and out of the box and built, but i have a question. When i am riding down the street, in a straight line, if i look at the neck of the handlebars, (the lower part like underneath the speed odometer) the handlebars look as though they are not centered, they look like they are turned a hair to the right and its pissing me off only because its brand new. so, my question is how the heck do i adjust that, which bolt is it?? i need help so i can straighten the bars out, anyone else probably would never notice this, but i do and bother the hell out of me....thanks in advance for all your help..

Scooter: milano 150 and tank urban sporty 50 Bought: online milano and b and m tank Company:local b/m tank, gs motorworks milano Purchase Experience: 9 plus both Price: $500 tank and $799 milano 150 Pros of Scoot: both work well and look good, loads of fun and practicality. great deals. gs motorworks even gave us an extra speedo cable cuz WE messed up the old one...( i bet dealers get blamed a lot for errors dumbo consumers make...i betcha) Cons of Scoot: um, none. some teeny tiny issues (carb drain screw fell out) that readers of this forum can fix ez. Pros of Method: price, helpfulness of both dealers, and the quality of these machines is fine. issues and solutions are actually a lot like my lawn mower and outboard motor. Cons of Method: None Notes: i would by from gsmotorworks again without hesitation.

If you ever had a bike same principle, you have the Fork and bearings and nuts on top holding the handle bars down. Also a lot of them have a Single Bolt Going through the handle bar neck and the top of the Fork If its a little off you can Lossen that Bolt and Move the handlebars a little left or right. Alleyoop

Hello, I'm new to the forum,I just purchased a mc54-250b and very pleased.I purchased it from killer motor sports on 9/23, and it arrived within a week an was in great shape no damages.I took my time doing the pdi changed all the fluids, and tightening all the bolts using locktite on all. This one came with a carb cup to prime the carb and I used it,and the scooter started right up. I now have 50 miles on the scooter, and the only problem I'm having is a sticky rear wheel break lever.Great to be here ,your threads have helped me very much thanks guys

Scooter: Dash 50 2010 Bought: Online Company: Green Earth Scooters Purchase Experience:(1=horrible, 10=incredible)] I would say a 7 Price: [$ 650.00] Pros of Scoot: They were fast in shipping, They accept Laway, Item was as described.. Cons of Scoot: Problems with scooter out of box, too long to get warrantied parts, never once returned phone calls when promised. email spotty too. Pros of Method: Money, they were the cheapest I could find. Price included shipping. Cons of Method: None of the local dealers had a 50 cc scooters in stock. ( within my price range) Link: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=35620&page=1]Notes: With Green Earth if you have problems your pretty much on your own. If your not mechanically inclined and can work on your scooter yourself I can't recommend them.

Scooter: Motorino Cassini 150cc Bought: Online Company: Valley Scooters Purchase Experience: 5 (adjusted for general issues had with Chinese scooters, otherwise it would be lower) Price: $1,299 Pros of Scoot: Looks and Size ( I'm 5'10 and my husband is 6'2 we needed something a little bigger), it's been raining so I haven't really been able to ride it properly yet. Cons of Scoot: Getting full insurance coverage ( I did, but it took a lot more work then say a Lance or BMS), They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll just link that... img715.imageshack.us/img715/9248/dsc00562e.jpgPros of Method: Price ( I still came out ahead despite all the problems), convenience ( I'm a night person and like to do things when most dealerships are closed), fast shipping Cons of Method: No ability to test drive, or labor warranty (or any in my case at this point) Link: Coming soon! Notes: I wasn't expecting a bed of roses or anything, but I feel things should have been better then they were. Perhaps I just got unlucky, but I'm not pleased with how this has turned out so far. Hopefully these will be the only issues I have, but I think I'm being optimistic. I'll use a local B&M dealer next time.

Scooter: JCL MP-150m Bought: Local Dealer Company: Solano Cycle Purchase Experience: 7 Price: $890 Pros of Scoot: Used 150cc, included storage box and rain tarp, under 200 miles Cons of Scoot: What dealer said to be low idle, may be poor alternator, previous owner dropped it. Pros of Method: had $1100, got everything including tag and title. Cons of Method:Only choice at the store for my price range Notes: Scoot runs great, though has a tendency to die within the first minute of riding, starts up fine though afterwards. Right turn signal doesn't work until ridden a bit.

Scooter: 1994 Yamaha Jog super ZR Bought: Dealer/B+M/Online Company: Scootling Purchase Experience: 10/10 Price: $1800 ($NZD) Pros of Scoot: Yamaha = quality, fast, used to be raced, looked after mechanically. Cons of Scoot: has some scrapes on the plastics, horn doesn't always work, needs kick starting when cold. Started doing this within last few days Pros of Method: They sorted all the legal stuff for me, serviced with new rollers, battery, drive belt etc and threw in a helmet for free. Cons of Method: This was the only Jog left in stock. Link: www.scootling.co.nz/Notes: Although I wanted a much newer Jog (07-09) The shop only had this one. After taking it for a burn I just had to get it. Now I don't have to do much performance stuff to it, its pretty much all done for me.

Scooter: BMS Pathfinder 200cc Bought: online Company: www.superiorpowersports.com/Purchase Experience: 8/10 Price: <$1400 PDI and delivered Pros of Scoot: Excellent. Better power with higher cc than the 150 version Cons of Scoot: Not really 200cc, actually 150cc bored out to 174cc. Headlight is dim and stator won't handle upgrade to HID without electrical work Pros of Method: No shops close, so only option really. Cons of Method: Can't see in person. Took 2 weeks to arrive. Link: www.bmsmotor.com/scooter/product_31_Pathfinder_200.htmlNotes: PDI seemed good. Bolts tightened, oil changed, carb adjusted, front wheel attached. Shipping got screwed up, first company returned to sender, but went out same day by another carrier. Arrived clean and in good condition, except rear luggage rack had a busted hinge. No biggie for me, didn't like it anyway. Spoke to customer support via online chat nearly everyday after the first 7 days passed since order. Always nice. Checked status regularly. even emailed me on a Saturday with info on the shipment once. Would certainly suggest using them. Only gave an 8 out of 10 for busted luggage rack and two weeks to deliver.
