I ride my scoot to work, so I'm usually wearing slacks.

The more I ride, the more I think about riding gear. Right now, I wear my work cloths dress slacks, slip on shoes. I always wear a helmet but I have been known to scoot in crop pants and sandals... (favorite) Im sure its all fine till I fall once..... I am planning on getting gloves, and some sort of armored jacket at least for now. i need to look at local shops and try stuff on before I go and order anything online... female 5'10" so lots of stuff ends up being too short in the arms and body.

howdy, for impact and penetration resistance you can't beat dickies or equivalent. been down twice with them on and had some injury inside them but they never even looked scuffed afterward. they wouldn't provide much abrasion resistance when sliding but are much better than cotton jeans.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya

For comfort and protection I like trail jeans. The canvas on the legs is easy to treat with water proofing or sctoch gruard.

Always heavy jeans. When the weather's cool (below about 55) I wear leather chaps over them. Always FF helmet, gloves, usually boots. If I'm going on the main roads, armored jacket.
Note to all - Leatherup.com has some decent prices but we found that the X-element armored jackets tend to be a little on the small side.
