I have a 2006 Tank Urban Touring 150cc Deluxe scoot. It has 9500Km on it and the long rear muffler bolt broke off in the Rear Swing Arm extension. I chose to replace the arm than repair the attach point on the original. While doing this I want to put a new rear tire. All has gone reasonably well until ready to slide the wheel/tire off the axle. It easily slid about half way off until it hit the bottom of the battery box under the seat. My question: does anyone know how to get the wheel/tire off without having to take off the seat and under seat panels which has the battery well. To do that requires first taking off the rear luggage rack and trunk, upper rear and side panels, etc. Any ideas on how to get that wheel/tire off will be appreciated. I guess the easy way out is to just replace the swing arm and leave the tire change for another day. It original tire looks like it still has about 3000Km left on the tread.
One other point, I have noticed the scooter recently wasn't performing as well as it had been. Top speed had dropped about 10mph and gas mileage was down to about 55mpg. I had replaced the original CVT drive belt at 6500Km with a Kevlar one, and while replacing the swing arm, I thought I would check the drive belt. Good move. The belt was about 1/2 the original width and was slipping like mad. All the wear was on the inside(back side)of the belt--the outside looked fine. Anyone know what that kind of wear means? I replaced it with a new Kevlar belt. We'll see how this one does. JohnU in FL

use the premium grade gates belt. to get your rear tire off you will have to completely deflate your rear tire
