I ordered some el-cheapo pink goggles cuz the wind makes my eyes water.... anyway, I scrapbook & am known for liking to 'bling' up my pages. I bought some rhinestones from the craft store and glued them all around my goggles. I love it! I'm planning on 'accessorizing' my helmet & scoot, too! Hopefully, it'll help people see me! And I won't have to worry about anyone mistaking my scooter for anyone else's!

daqueen, glad you gots the goggles... you NEVER want to ride with out having something between your eyeballs and bugs, litter, or pebbles (fruity or any other kind ;D) ! Really serious about this, I cheat at times with my face shield raised to get a nice breeze, but I do have sun glasses on, which is just a wee better than nothing, but still something... good luck on finding other riders in Montana, if you can't find a group, think about starting one! More folks are taking the plunge to two wheels every day!

I bought my Roketa 250 last week and have already learned a lot from the forum. I just sold my 4th cycle and purchased my first scooter. Everything seems good - I picked it up from a Dallas dealer - so I had a chance to "kick the tires" first. Other than a totally useless manual, I am pleased with my scooter. I look forward to all the knowledge of the board.

hello dawgs, another newby here, and a wannabe for that matter. I am in Oklahoma waiting for my scoot to come in. I did order from B&M dealer, I want to be able to ride it as soon as i get it home. I have my name on a wait list for a Kymco People 250S. The dealer is about an hour away from where i live, so bringing it home will be in the back of son's pickup. oh and BTW, I am OLD 56 soon. this will be my first two-wheel vehicle purchase. I have rode the old "honda trail 90's" way back yonder in time. I have rode 3-wheelers while visiting and camping in Alaska. and 4-wheelers here in Oklahoma. so it's not like I have NO experience without a cage. but it has been a long time. I do plan to take a MSF course as soon as one becomes available on the AF base where I work. I don't plan to ride the scoot to work, 27 miles of interstate is the most direct route, and lots of crazy cars there. But I will have it in case i need to, or just want to, I can take back roads. Anyway, glad i found this site, I have learned what i DONT want (drop shippers) i do want someone that can work on the scoot if need be, however my son has said he will help me with the initial oil and fluid changes, then i can manage after that. I think i will wander over to the 250cc board for opinions on the people 250. thanks

Hi, This is Moe from Niceville, Fl. This is a great site, and I'm sure populated by similar folks. 3 mos ago I bought a Diamo Turista 260 for my 30 mile commute. Although new, it had been in the dealer inventory since 2006 ( I got it cheap). The scoot is made by Linhai, and my complaints are bad rubber, and poor fit of the windshield cowl, gas tank cover, and seat latches. I have had two failures. one a CDI unit which would not work after about 45 minutes of riding (until it cooled off), and an intermittent side stand safety switch. Both were fixed by the dealer, Joe, who is a regular Harley rider & a good mechanic. I also have 5th wheel, and am planning a carrier for the rear of the camper, although 370 lbs will require something beefy.
Hi to the Group, Moe

Hey there: I am new to scootin and new to message boards too---old dog learning new tricks. I'm from Texas, between Dallas and Houston, and hope to learn stuff and have a good time. I've got a YY250T bright red Shanghai "Shzmo"---all I could find in my area, though I hope to someday get a Burghman or a Majesty, she's a good beginner's bike and can sustain 65-70 no problem, so far. In 4 weeks I've already put on 1500 miles and I really do get a kick out of it. It's a good thing I didn't see that pidgin English owner's manual first, probably would have had second thoughts. My friends and I have laughed ourselves silly over it. Good thing hubby pretty much knows what to do for maintenance, so I can learn how to do it from him!

To all, hello. Just another new damn yankee from New York (no not the city). Looking forward to the helpful info I have been finding round here. I used to ride a Sach's many moons ago and thinking about getting a Linhai. Have plenty of time as it's only 30 degrees out right now.
Aaron, thank you and the other admin's for a site like this.

I'm ready to teach my hubby a bit about doing the PDI from the great instructions provided from this site! We made up a flier with our phone number and website address, and placed it in 4 dealers stores. We have 35 members now, and we found St Pete Scooter Club through this, which now has a scooter night, with about 12 scooters showing up almost every week. Also, have a few people showing up who received calling cards from us with the website address and a pic of a scooter on it. Maybe someday we'll be big enough for our own rally!

Hello Eveyone,My name is Kevin a.k.a. Rockgod! New to the site and I love it! Lot's of great folks and tons of info.I retired in 2003 from the Navy and hadn't had a car in over 12 years. After alot of thought,I decided on a scoot.Bought a 2005 Roketa Tahiti 150 Limited Edition in the beginning of 2006.It has been great so far with the usual problems.I paid $1700 for it then, prices have came down since.I purchased a 2008 Rocketa Bali 150cc in April 2008 and the difference is amazing. The ride and comfort level alot better than the Tahiti, but the Tahiti is lighter and faster.I can hit 65 mph on level road, with no mods.Granted I'm only 5ft 9in and 150 lbs,but I'm satisfied. My Bali also will cruise at 60-65 on the interstate with throttle to go.I guess taking time doing my research and making sure I broke them in properly gave me these results.I suggest all newbies to take their time, get some tools, and with a little luck, your chinese scoot isn't as bad as some say.Considering I only paid $1200 total for my Bali,2400 miles and only had to replace stator, and a left hand turn signal switch,$60 for both including shipping, other than regular maintenance and a couple of batteries, they both have been pretty good.Good luck to all and look forward to chatting to everyone!

I live in Nashville Tennessee and ride my 2006 Tank 150 touring de to work each day. It has about 6,000 miles on it. One problem I am having is finding a rear replacement tire. It has a Kenda-418 original tire which is a 4 x 12 tire. Any suggestions? I have put a Dr. Pulley variator with sliding weights on it and the scooter seemed to run a little bit stronger with a little more top end(4-5 mph).

Aloha to Everyone, This is all new to me so I'm not even sure where to start. I have a lot of questions that I hope can be answered here. I just bought a RS4I 50cc scooter from the NINGBO LONGIA MOTORCYCLE CO. Obviously Chinese... I need an ignition set for it. Where can I find one? Thanks, Mike

Hi everyone. My name is Scott, i live in Janesville,WI. i picked up an 02 Eton Beemer 50cc in June w/800 miles on it. Been riding it to work everyday(and some extra trips too) and have put an extra 800 or better on it. This is my first scooter and I enjoy riding it, but dont have too much of a clue of what to do when things don't work the way I think they should. I like to do things myself, and have some kind of skill, so I am looking forward to obtaining a helping hand from generous people with experience. Thank you in advance, and ride-on!
