shescoots150, I got the small 1:18 scale metal scale scooter models at Wal-Mart of all places, back in the toy section. They have a lot of motorcycles as well. They sell these online via several internet stores and on Ebay as well, but they seem to be a lot more expensive from those places.

Thanks a bunch! ;D I wasn't expecting an immediate reply anyways!
The same trailer with 12" wheels is only $50 more so I'll probably get that. A spare tire probably is a good idea, too. That higher quality motorcycle wheel chock is exactly what I was looking for!
The trailer description says, "Bed tilts all the way to the ground for easy loading." Do you think I could get away with just doing that? I'll have my boyfriend help me with loading the scooter.

Well, maybe if you don't mind injuring yourself severely. You would have to lift up the trailer tongue high to get the rear down, and then you roll your scooter up onto the trailer, and now you have to lower the front down without killing yourself. Even a small scooter is heavier than it looks. One can become airborne if it happens too quick. Remember the see saws they used to have in school playgrounds? I would go for a ramp. it is a lot safer. Get a wider ramp as if you start to lose your balance, you have a place to put your foot down.
The larger wheels do better at freeway speeds.
Someone once unhooked the trailer from the hitch, then they got their scooter's front wheel up on the trailer and weighed it down in the back. Then they pushed the scooter up onto the trailer. As the balance point shifted forward, the trailer tilted down in the front fast, and sort of catapulted them a few feet forward. the scooter fell over and slid forward into the truck onto the trailer's tongue. It was a lot better story when he told it though.

The idea or concept is to ride to all the cities you can find in your area and get a pic of your scooter and something that shows you were there. I like the idea of City Limit Signs, esepcially as the signs are something of a vanishing icon any more, especially in crowded urban areas. I have a reasonable list of cities already done with pics of my scooter posing by the elusive "city limit" signs. The city limit signs are becoming something of a lost icon nowadays, especially in the crowded urban areas. I have a few extra pics of other cities as well. So far on my list is: Addison Argyle Arlington Bedford Carrolton Coppell Coppell-Dallas (I still need to find a good city limit sign for Dallas) Dallas Dalworthington Gardens Denton Euless Farmer's Branch Flower Mound Fort Worth Grapevine Haltom City Hurst Justin Keller Lewisville Mansfield Northlake North Richland Hills Pantego Roanoke Southlake Trophy Club Venus Westlake here are some of the farther out ones so far:

Thanks, and OK, How about my own town Grapevine. they have this sign out over on the other side of the Dam. If you look to the right there is a old Grapevine City Limit sign about 50 to 60 years old still standing there as well as the newer ones. I think this is the only City limit signs like this left in the whole city. This is a old sign as the city has way more than 29,212 people in it now. When I was enroute to Justin, I found the city of Northlake. I didn't even know it was there. This is a old sign as they have way more houses than a population of 921 now. This sign for Westlake is a classic oldie as well. The city has like 10,000 houses in it now but the sign still reads population 703. Roanoke is another one that cracks me up, as the sign reads pop. 5450, but the city has grown immensely. it has its own Wal-MArt, Home Depot, Lowes, and oodles of other yuppie like stores too. Coppell has the classic sign like you see in some movies. With state championships listed, et cetera. It is fascinating how all the cities have a "Superior Water System" too.

Absolutely love the pictures and description. You also must be loving you your 250. BTW, when I copied the description of your 250 to look at prices and so-forth, there were only 3 websites below the Sponsor Links, and everyone of them was you. That was cool and you are now a celebrity around the world.

Today I decided to make a run down to Venus Texas and have a donut. Of course you have to leave a little early to get there before they run out of donuts. All in all it was quite fun. FM157 sort of turns and twists and meanders its way down to Venus, the squiggly line on the maps is correct, which makes for a nice ride. It isn't a boring straight line run all the way down there. Venus City Limits Downtown Venus A group of local sportbike riders I came across while down there. Several of them have scooters as well. The guy with the yellow jacket has a Silverwing besides the Ducati.

Great pictures again Earl and love the pictures of downtown Venus with you scoot. Plus, your scooter looks correct with all the motorcycle around it. Normally when my scooter is in the middle of a bunch of motorcycles, it just doesn't look right.

If you want to keep the weight down, try making your trailer a "rail" type. The kind like BMX/Dirt Bike riders use. It consists of only a channel/rail that the tires sit in/ride on the trailer. No plywood bottom, very light. They should have a built-in ramp.

hey earl
wish i had seen this thread before i bought the tilt bed trailer. the bro drives the scoot right up no prob.....as for me....not. the last time i tried i went over the side of the trailer broke at least one rib and some other damage, not to mention the scratches on my scoot that was still running when i could finally catch my breath from having the wind knocked out of me.
well i'm not trying that again.
