Common practice w/ motorcycle riders who want to add a little character to their ride. The way I used to do it is to carefully mark off a circular pattern around the exh. outlet and then centerpunch evenly spaced six spots. Then drill six small holes(3/8th"). Better to start small and enlarge if more sound is desired. If the airbox isn't changed, airflow though the engine isn't increased that much and installing a larger main jet is not required. Seems to last longer than clipping baseball cards against the spokes.

Ooohhh!!!!, clipping baseball cards against the spokes that brings back memories. Not a bad idea actually. It doesn't cost anything if the cards aren't yours.

Actually, I prefered ballons, for that deeper, V-twin sound.

Sure it changes, it's just a matter of how big you want to make the holes. That's why I say start small and go progressively bigger till you get where you want to be.
