My manual calls for a 10w/30 but the sticker says use only GL-3. A GL-3 does not come in that weight. The amount it holds is a mystery to me as well. Manual says to fill it full, but it is not like a truck rear end where it would come out at a certain point it would really be completly full. Is this right? Last question, is the rear end and the transmission changed at the same place with the same type of oil?

You normally use gear oil of around 75/90w in the rear transmission gear box. www.OregonVintage.com has some good articles on repair and such. like this little article here, www.oregonvintage.com/250cvt.pdfThe basic technique is to add gear oil until it starts to come out of the filler hole and then you have it full.

Earl is absolutely correct, that is what MY manual says.

My manual states to "use a high quality gear oil" and that "the capacity is 110ml". (Viva Roadster - carbon copy of yours)

CFMoto/Honda based final drive - add oil until it begins to over flow. Linhai/Yamaha style final drive - 250 ml. (up to 300 ml probably OK)
