You can check my thread here on what I did with a Cone type of air filter. scootdawg.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=200cc&action=display&thread=1201491995Some people just let the crankcase vent tube dangle someplace inside so it doesn't drip oil onto the engine and stuff. others, drill a hole and mount a fitting to the air filter and plug the crankcase vent into the air filter as well. others run the vent tube to a oil catcher can and out or through a small separate air filter. I myself opted to simply place the cone filter inside the air filter box. I haven't pulled the carb on mine out to dissassemble yet. So I'll have to defer to someone else as to the jet sizes etc. But the idle speed adjustment is a long metal rod with a star shaped top on it on the left side of the carb. The air mixture screw is directly on top of the carb's outlet flange going to the engine.

On my 250 there are 2 screws, idle adjustment on top and mixture below... don't know about the 257 or what carb you have...

Here is mine. Technically you only rarely need to mess with the idle air mixture screw, but it is nice that it is on top and easy to get to.

I haven't had a reason to go faster than 50mph so far.

Earl, I ride with a Harley Classic, Honda Shadow, Reflex Clone and a Strada RX150i. We keep our max cruise speed to 60MPH so the Strada can keep up , it tops out at 64MPH and we don't want him to have to ride at WOT. The Reflex clone tops out at 70MPH so he has no trouble keeping up, my Burger tops out at 93MPH so there is no problem there. I just want to change the roller weights in the Burger so it will accelerate faster. The Burger can almost run with the shadow when it comes to acceleration.
